S1E9 - Thank you Brother Dusk

For saving the day that is. Hope Brother Day kills that simp ass Dawn. He simped so hard for her and got used like the soyboy he was. Cried like a bitch too. It's good to know they can track and keep tabs on defective clones.

Not only does Salvor Hardin have luck, she can now feel as Gaal Dornick can. Oh gee, her Mary Sue powers are getting stronger and stronger by the episode, even to the point of triggering the Prime Radiant. She sure is breaking all the rules of psychohistory at least (suppose to be Gaal on Terminus). It was nice seeing Hari Seldon again (I like that actor from Chernobyl and The Terror).

What frustrated me in this episode was like the episode when they first boarded the Invictus, another stupid person macguffining up their leverage only to get wasted by Phara Keaen. You're the only person the ship was slaved to yet you give it up so you're pretty much useless at that point so you're better off dying with it still one you, ffst! At least she dies later on, killed by the very bow she was once bestowed upon.

I am going to miss Lee Pace if the Empire crumbles. Hoping he somehow survives. :<

1. I've gotta hand it to the Scowlinator, an arrow through her throat and she didn't make a fuss about it. Not a single "gak" and she didn't even bleed.

2. Forget about the male magical math this show is all about the power of the female feelings force !

3. That dirty dog Brother Dusk, saving Azura for later. Or is she a triple agent !?

4. Liked the shout out to Crocodile Dundee. That's not a gun, this is a gun !!!

Might be mass orgy rape for her by all 3 Brothers, kidding of course. Most likely the torture chamber to learn all about any other insurgents. Maybe they'll keep Dawn alive and he'll sneak or see her but is now enraged at her betrayal and will do the torture himself to redeem himself.

reply

Um.... brother Orgy definitely happened. Probably a bunch of times.

@.I was re watching episode 3 yesterday and when Brother Dusk is walking towards the disintegrator the newborn Dawn ( the one that falls in love) starts to cry.

This alarms Brother Dusk who stops and turns around twice and says: there is something wrong referring to the baby crying.

Demercel ignores his words and tells him not not worry and gets him to move on with the death ceremony.

I have a hunch she is behind the plan of Auzura and Co.

She stole the genetic material for the rebels and caused Brother Dawn ‘s defects.

Personally I feel sorry for Brother Dawn , the victim here, and hope after the life changing experience of The Spiral, Brother Day will not kill Brother Dawn.

reply

They mentioned they've been waiting for decades... Are you suggesting Demercel has been going against her programming for quite some time? Maybe when she started believing in religion?

Eh, he didn't change else he wouldn't have offed that black chick (already forgot her name). He didn't even see a vision so there was no enlightenment at the end of the road. That's just my assumption of it but who knows, maybe he will have a change of heart once learning of the defect. Still, all simps must die.

reply

Robo Lady is definitely in on this. And Day may not have had an Experience, but he had a big touch in with the common man. He's different now too. Dusk is gonna get scary as shit cause he's the only true believer left.

@.I think Brother Dawn is 17-18 so nearly two decades.

Maybe she believed there was some truth in Hari Seldons predictions . He too thought that the Cleon Dynasty was stagnant and lacked new lifeblood.

I also don’t think she approved when those two planets were destroyed after the Star Bridge had been bombed.

She was not plotting to destroy but rather to save the Dynasty.. Brother Dawn is the first Cleon to fall in love .. I wonder if he can procreate.

I just thought it was strange she ignored Brother Dusk’s worries when the baby cried.

I also find it strange she never notice he was flawed. When did Brother Dawn realise that he had to hide his flaws or he would be replaced.

Continues…

@. It’s all about the journey.. Brother Day didn’t have a vision at the end but he did do The Great Spiral. The walk itself took a toll on body and soul.

He put his life at stake , it was the first time he was vulnerable, experience pain , was injuries just like a normal person.

He received a gesture of compassion when the older guy he bonded with helped him up and encouraged him to continue after he fell due to exhaustion.

He was moved by this act of kindness. Brother Day experience the hardship of being truly human.

In the last scene as he is being prepared for the jump , Brother Day‘s thoughts went back to when he arrived at the pond .. not having had a vision disturbs him as did Dermercel ‘s words:

That she ‘s pleased he too had the same vision because to “see nothing” would be an emptiness she wouldn’t wish on anyone.

I really feel Brother Day will be clement with Brother Dawn.

Really cool episode. Between the scenes of Dusk being in control with the paintings, and with the take down, it shows that old man Dusk is easily the most dangerous of the bunch. Day is the big dog, but he's not making the big moves. Experience is pulling all the strings. Real cool stuff. But now Day is returning with his head is all screwed up. This part of the show is so F'n great!

@ to TandyMan.

The Cleons are for me the best part of this series too.

Should Lee Pace ( who I believe does a brilliant job as Brother Day) not return for season2 , I will stop watching.

Salvor reminds me too much of Michael Burnham from ST:Discovery.

The writers gave her even a male name .. and her face features are similar too.

She always saves the day .. so annoying.

reply

I put up with it cause she doesn't do that annoying face-acting nonsense.
