it's pretty to look at but fails at world building, character development and story progression, it's all over the place.

I can follow it too, find, but what is the point in following something that is ridiculous and non-sensical?

That's because the show tries to be too many things (like Westworld and, of course, GoT) but it lacks the depths and the authors are nowhere as talented.
And of course, one thing the show is not even trying to be is Foundation.

Couldn't agree more. They're taking minor parts of the book(s) and blowing them up to be the whole thing while taking the central aspect, psychohistory, and fobbing it off as some bit part. And I NEVER had the sense from the books that Terminus was some totally barren rock as it's depicted.
