Finally got around to seeing Thor. And...I LOVED it!

I originally wanted to go to the cinema to see Thor, but never got around to it. After weeks of stalking the RedBox at my local grocery store, I finally got my hands on a copy. And well, what can I say? I LOVED it!

I loved everything about it. The story line progressed smoothly, the music was excellent, the special effects were great. I found myself really liking Loki's character for some strange reason.

Anyway, this is not going to be a long drawn out review. Just wanted to tell you guys I liked it. Waaaaay better than Captain America by the way.

My ranking for the 4 movies:

1./2. The Incredible Hulk/Thor (I really can't decide which one I liked better. I loved them both)
3. Ironman
4. Captain America

The music was especially effective during the first scene in Asgard and in the end credits. I loved it. I hum it all the time. Those two tracks in the album are "Earth to Asgard" and "Thor Kills the Destroyer".

Yes - the music is absolutely brilliant. It's from KB's long-time collaborator Patrick Doyle and is a perfect match for exuberant passion of the story.

I've seen it seven times and I still love it. The more you see it, the better it holds up.

I don't agree with the Cap bashing, however. Both films are damn good but both in their own way.

It’s not just he best comic book movie in years but it’s the best movie I have seen in a long time! The action, the characters, effects, and story were all awesome. It is a kick-butt movie with a great story, great action, great characters, and an amazing vision.

Thor came out early and set the bar high. People need to re-visit it and remember just how good it turned out.

reply

I don't need to re-visit anything. I know how great it turned out and I knew it the minute I walked out of the theater after seeing it.

reply

Yes, welcome to the party!

reply

I don't remember the music at all, did it even have a theme song?

reply

It's for real this time! Enjoy Dark World.

I'm really late to the party. I've never been a big fan of the character so when the movie came out and the previews didn't wow me I laid off. Well I finally got around to watching and and I absolutely loved it. Part of it may be because I never became intimately familiar with Thor in the comic books so I was not attached to any original plot lines that the film may or may not have butchered.

Nice story line
Great special effects
Likeable characters

I also own it on DVD and watch Thor as much as possible. I love to rotate Marvel films and keep them fresh in my mind.

People that wait to see any Marvel film baffle me. They're all such fun and best of the year quality. Why wait?

I didn't even want to watch this movie, but it did exceed my expectations - it was enjoyable to watch. I did enjoy Captain America, although found it moved a little too slow for my taste. I think if the love story was a bit more developed (probably in directors cut with extended 30 minute footage), it would have hit the nail all around.

Now I have to watch Incredible Hulk, haven't seen it, but which one did you watch? Where does Avengers fit in your ranking? I still have yet to see it as well.

Iron Man, I just didn't care for.

reply

Hell.. I watched it for the first time a year after it was released, which was about a month ago. I think I waited so long to see it because of the reviews. The movie got very mixed reviews here in Norway, everything from mediocre to raving. And then I read about Heimdall being black and one of the warrior three being chinese, and I must admit.. it did seem weird, and like it didn't really fit into the norse mythology. I can understand the criticism. But after seeing it I honestly don't mind Heimdall. The actor playing him is great. However, I did have a problem with the "jackie chan" character. He didn't fit in at all, and it looked weird.

Loki: I’m no more than another stolen relic? Locked up here until you might have use of me!?

So many stories like this. I had friends actually doubt me but they'll never do that again. They list Thor as their favorite superhero film now.

That's why Thor may even top Hunger Games this November. So many new fans.

The opening weekend box office will top $85 million. Mark it down.

I'll never understand why people listen to critics. What is their value? Do you have the same taste?

If I like the genre I'll see it for myself and make up my own mind. I love the majority of super hero films so why would
let the opinion of a critic deny me what I enjoy!
Loved Thor and Loved the Dark World!

It’s good to dream

$85.7 million dollar opening for Thor The Dark World. That was a pitch perfect prediction.
