Midgets
The movie was ok but I didn't like the whole making fun of small people (ie midgets); as a midget myself I felt offended.

ROFL Brutal! Too much South Park eh?
sharejesus christ shut up
i'm so sick of people who get so much joy out of being mean to others. *beep* grow up.

Umm he wasn't being mean, just blunt. Honestly there's no other options for a little person. It's a tough life, and unfortunately they will be laughed both in film and in real life. He's just saying that you have to know you're better than that. Same is true whenever a regular sized person is made fun of/belittled for something that is not within their power to control. You just have to rise above the comments and dismiss them because ultimately they do not affect you unless you let them.
On top of this I highly doubt the OP is a little person considering he referred to himself as a midget and this is, well, the internet ya know...
Some day you will die somehow and something's gonna to steal your carbon.
They prefer Dwarf
All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain...
"Little person", "dwarf", "person of short stature"... All of these are acceptable with "little person" being the preferred term. Midget is offensive to little people as noted by OP. I wouldn't call it hate speech by any means but its plenty insensitive.
sharei bet u r a midge in real life

Also, one wonders how the situation can be helped... unwatch it, perhaps?
shareWhy are you telling JC to shut up?
shareThats a tall order
sharedont feel bad...I'm 5'6 and even I get made fun of. its weird you know, the other day this pretty girl who was with her friends in the break room at work...mind you she wasnt a teen...but a full grown adult in her early 30's...said "hey theres the short little guy".. when I walked past her. really odd...I had never talked to her at all when we would pass in the hallways.....never did anything to her... yet in front of others she called me a short little guy.the friends didnt laugh or respond they looked uncomfortable.
I just cannot wrap my head around it why for no reason she would say that! an adult woman to an adult man working in a proffesional county job!
I just kept walking but was like....what....the ...hell.
then one day I forgot my ID and couldnt get into the building and she saw me and practically ran over to help me get in using her ID. very stange.

I understand. I found the racism and "humor" at the expense of little people really jarring and boring. Martin McDonagh shouldn't stoop to using that sh-t for shock value -- especially given that he's capable of much more. It's just not necessary. It left me going "why?" I get that these are characters we aren't necessarily supposed to like -- Brendan Gleeson's character might be the exception -- but I think it's lazy to throw in a bunch of racially charged, prejudicial one-liners for the sake of characterization. If you want to show me these characters are sh-tty people, there are other ways to do so. And the movie would be just as good, if not better, without that cliched tripe. It frustrates me. I'm sure it frustrates you even more.
Also don't listen to the rest of the a--holes responding to this post. The internet is full of sh-tstains It's easy for people who have never experienced discrimination for something they can't control to dismiss the feelings of those who have. They're idiots who probably don't have the mental capacity to even fathom to concept of empathy or sympathy for another human being. Rest easy knowing you're not nearly as f-cked as they are and likely never will be.
I think Ray "liked" midgets. He was well intentioned as was the movie.
You know what I find funny about your post? You got all worked up and told the OP to disregard anyone who didn't agree with him, missing entirely the fact that he referred to himself as a midget, something no self respecting dwarf would ever do as that word is considered a slur in their community. In other words, you fell for a troll who doesn't give a rat's behind about dwarfs and was only looking to stir the PC pot.
BTW, stop being so bloody sensitive. There isn't a person alive whose race, gender, nationality or economic circumstance hasn't been made fun of by someone.
"as a midget myself I felt offended."
You're a troll, because if you weren't you would know that dwarfs consider the word "midget" a slur.
While I agree the OP is likely a troll, midgets are actually a thing, and different than dwarfs (and much rarer). While dwarfs typically have legs and arms much shorter for their body size than non-dwarfs and heavier cranial bones, midgets just look like tiny regular humans who failed to grow to a more normal size. "General" Tom Thumb (Charles Sherwood Stratton), for instance, was a midget, despite his Wikipedia page erroneously describing him a a dwarf.
shareThere's a difference from trolls and midgets you *beep* trolls live under bridges.
