my wife put this on during lunch at home. I'm ready to bail on it within the first 10 minutes.

as a firefighter I can't watch it..

but we'll keep it going for a little while longer.

yes I have to agree. I really took nothing from it. pretty lame premise. I would not have been able to sit through it without my lap top. I use the time to read about the movie's cast, trivia, all that imdb stuff... just did not believe the whole premise... not to mention the gay concept, and the lame jokes about gay..whatever... thumbs down.

seriously I ask this, my brother-in-law is FDNY, and he hates Rescue Me, becasue "it's not a good image of firefighters..." seriously are you guys really this uptight?? I know guys who are cops and find Police Academy funny...why can't you just take it for what it is, satire.

I want to learn how to blow up *beep* with my mind.

I don't care for rescue me either... but most of the guys on my shift are into it...

it's not about being "uptight".. I'll enjoy plenty of gay related stuff...but this movie just didn't do it for me....

just because it's "satire", doesn't mean it has to be enjoyed by all....esp by the group it's satirizing.

You don't like this movie, because "you're not gay"?
It sounds like you're the one with the problem.

You don't have to be gay to enjoy the movie, but you aren't going to enjoy the movie if you're homophobic.

i freakin love this movie, ving rhames is the man, and the biggest guy ever, has to be the queen, its comedy man, its not funny if he acts like Hulk Hogan, although Hulk Hogan was hilarious, but in a different way. Anyways I digress, this movie is awesome. Hulkamania

I'm straight, an airborne combat infantryman on my way out and a firefighter about to go full-time. I love guns, 4x4 pickups, and mountain dew.
I have alot of gay friends who served honorably (under don't ask don't tell) in Iraq and Afghanistan (more than most civilian men can claim to have done, but I guess it takes a special few to answer the call.) and a gorgeous wife who Ive loved since high school. I absolutely love this movie. It raises good points, and as always Sandler and company deliver with laughs galore. I guess alot of guys were uncomfortable with it, well Ranger the *beep* up. It doesn't matter what your brother to your left and right prefer. We all fight for each other, we all serve and we all make the same screams when hit.

What does being "straight" have to do with liking a movie? Do you mean, "Why would any bigot like this movie?" Of course, it's not that great of a movie. But what would being heterosexual have to do with you either liking it or not liking it, unless you're a bigot?
