How did Larry's son turn gay?
Or when?
I must have missed that part.

He displays many gay stereotypes (enjoying musicals, dancing, baking, etc.) but it's never mentioned if Larry's son is gay. Also, since he's only a kid, he most likely wouldn't know what orientation he is. He does show a "non-gay" moment when he punches the bully kid in the balls.

what a sexist post....just because a man likes theater doesn't make him gay.........people these days.
shareA boy who likes to wear nice clothes and takes care of his looks is actually considered "metrosexual". Many kids are like that nowadays.
I agree that Larry's son was dragging it a bit far, but I see nothing wrong with that. Not at all.
It's nothing wrong with effeminate boys if that makes them happy and true to themselves.
As for the son being gay? I'm not sure. Maybe bisexual? But why not? Then he will have twice the number of potential partners as a straight or homosexual teenager.
He might end up as popular with both girls and gays because of his talents and him being different than other boys. They might find him very likeable.
I love Sandler but somehow never saw this movie back in '07 and just recently watched it. I wanted to come here and see if anybody else mentioned the son Eric.
It's interesting that both of Larry's kids totally go against the gender stereotypes since his daughter is a total tomboy. They really did exaggerate and play up Eric's gay stereotypes, although that alone is obviously not proof that he is. He could've just been a very effeminate, sensitive metrosexual. If he was straight or bi, maybe he just was slow to develop crushes or an interest in girls. Remember how he screamed at the Playboy centerfold? Whether that's because he was grossed out by chicks in general, or still at that stage where boys think girls are icky and "have cooties" and stuff is debatable. Could be a bit of both, lol.
My guess is that he is gay, but it's open for interpretation and I think that's what makes it interesting. I do wish people wouldn't stereotype though, and assume that simply because he liked baking, theater and dancing; and wasn't typically boyish - i.e. into sports, wrestling, action figures, gangsta rap (or when I was a kid in the 80s-90s...hard rock, punk and metal was more badass/"guy music") that that alone made him gay.
And as for the person who said he wouldn't have any sexual orientation because he's still a kid...bulls**t. I liked girls/women when I was 7 and I knew it lol. True, young kids don't really know about sex, and sexuality doesn't explode and manifest until you're in your early teens (perhaps kinda longer for LGBTs since there's still homophobes and narrow minded attitudes about it, so they might stay in the closet longer)... but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist! That's one reason I hate when Christian right wingers insist that it's a "choice".
How do you know he's gay? He was fem but that says nothing about his sexual prefrence maybe he was transgendered, or maybe just feminine. I don't think he was any mre fem than his sister was boyish though.
Create a society in which you would like to live, not knowing what you're going to come into it as.
This movie just has lousy writing. Sandler should have never taken over this.
shareHe wasn't gay. He just had non traditional interests.
