Its a fucking lake, Crystal Lake is not the name of the town, its the lake outside of the town, and besides that the police department is in the town, not at the lake, it makes no sense.
Is there seriously a place in the world that has a police department named after the lake outside of the town its in?
I guess in the universe of the remake, the town or county is named after the lake? That's the only explanation I cna think of.
Did they ever mention the name of the nearby town in the old movies?
New Jersey was where the lake was in the old movies, the specific name of the town changes here and there but in the original 4 it was Wessex County New Jersey.
shareI wonder if they were meant to be different towns. It's also possible they just didn't bother being consistent with that. The movies had different writers and they didn't really care too much about the continuity.
shareYeah just a matter of the different writers not having good continuity, cause its very brief in Final Chapter you hear on the news them talking about Jason's body being at the Wessex County hospital, i'm sure the writers later on never paid attention to that and just changed the name to whatever.
