She does seem to be in a sexual role a lot, but I think that's because
she's so beautiful and attractive. She's blessed.
Great acting, too. I really felt her character, it's a shame she disappeared in the middle of the movie.
There should have been a scene with phoenix in the end of the movie!

I read a post on here (on Joaquin's board) shortly after seeing this movie where someone (a woman) commented that love scenes in movies don't normally get to her, but that this scene did and one of those reasons was that they didn't take it very far, all the way, whatever. She said something along the lines that his smoldering look with Eva Mendes' reaction left a lot, pleasantly, to the poster's imagination! I just found this post funny b/c I don't see the appeal of love scenes, but this opening his scene with the look on his face was hot!

Nothing against the chick, I like her acting and all, but how anybody finds her smokin hot is completely beyond me and I almost threw up in my mouth at the poster who said her acting is superior to Scarlett Johansson's. Eva looks like a guy to me. So not attractive. The red corset snippet was crafty, but she's not hot at all imo.
shareI didn't say she was a better actress than Scarlett Johansson, NOW. I was referring to an early film that they were in together. She was definitely the better actress THEN. Scarlett has improved greatly since then.
Eva was chosen for her part because the director wanted the bombshell look of the actresses of the 50's and 60's. She fits that description perfectly.

I agree, she is absolutely beautiful, and was very hot in this movie. The only other film I can remember her in is Hitch, sad, but true.
But I don't think was terrible in this film as others seem to think, nothing outstanding, but nothing worth bashing her over.
