I can't stand her. I don't find a single thing endearing about her. Good characters are supposed to have several sides but its hard for me to see anything more than her just being shallow and selfish. And she's very dumb. Its not funny. 30 Rock does a great job at being a very "smart" show and to have a "dumb blonde character" just seems sort of beneath them. I love the show, but I have to stop myself from fastforwarding when she's on screen.
shareJenna is supposed to be an intolerable character, a foil to prove that Liz's job sucks.
But the fabulous Jane Krakowski makes Jenna fun to watch. There is the sadness of a fading, aging actress desperately clinging to youth, and Jane's interpretation has never made us forget it. Her portrayal made us understand why Jenna is so messed up.
The Jenna character is *supposed* to be annoying and to cause problems for the characters we care more about. Her character, in a lot of ways, propels the show forward.
