Seagal's career is over. (Honest fan's opinion)

With this movie, The great Steven Seagal's career is officially over. Nothing is worse than this movie. Nothing on this planet is worse than Attack Force. It's best to remember Seagal from his everlasting timeless action films from the past. Im' talking the ones by Warner Bros. Time to look into the past and not the future. Attack Force was the last straw. I have no more words for this trash. Even if the so called "Once upon a time in the hood" or "Prince of Pistols" does come out. I will never forgive this pathetic movie. It's sad but true. Even his most hard-core fans (like me) need to accept the truth. It is the most difficult thing for me to come out and say (im' sure his best fans feel the same way). All good things come to an end. Seagal's career is over.

If I remember correctly Ticker was released after Exit Wounds, but I'm sure it was filmed before and kept on the shelf for a while.

What a great and accurate summary of attack force

I Agree! The worse film ever!
Even a cheap B movie is better than this!

Im' glad people agree and are discussing this. I am however not happy that there are all these punks on the board who are not even fans, yet keep coming back to talk bad about steven. He is doing much better now with Flight of Fury and OUTIH. Let's give him a break since he's trying much more. After all, ever since the interview, Sony Pictures is partly to blame as well.

reply

Have you seen Flight of Fury yet? It's pretty good. He's also quite lean. There are some really good fights in this too. There's a character called Rojar, one of the guys who assist John Sands (Steven), he's quite fun.I'm sure you'll like this one Lionelhutz850402002.

reply

Oh yeah man. This one was definetly better. I saw the fan made trailer a few days before it came out. I knew it would be awesome. Just the fact that he looks a little bit slimmer makes the movie more realistic. Yes, the fights where the best though. Well done with no obvious double. That's really what he has to keep working on and he should be fine. That and no voice dubbing!

reply

Hey, our hero certainly came up with the goods this time. I can picture you smiling!! pleased that you're not disappointed with this one. Have you noticed also that his weight never stays the same for any length of time? Even in the same movie, you'll notice that he may look a little plump in some shots, and lean in others. I think he's one of those people who has to work very hard at staying trim, and I believe he does try. After all, he's a star and must want to look good always. So maybe the next one will be just as good, and he'll be as lean as he is in this. My favourite lines:
General Barnes-------- "John, what took you so long?"
John --------- "I had to jump start my camel, sir"

What's yours?

reply

Yes, I agree that most of Seagal's latest movies have been bad, but one point I wish to make is that at least he is still out there doing these movies. Apart from Jean-Claude Van Damme, there's virtually no action star from the eighties who still makes no-nonsense beat 'em up actioners without fancy effects, "high-concept" plots and politically-correct scenes. I still give Steve credit for that, but he'll never beat "Out For Justice" (my personal fave) and I don't think anything could be worse than "The Patriot"- singing and throwing magic flowers out of a chopper?? THAT was bad!!!

In memory of Sam Peckinpah

That line about "throwing magic flowers out of a chopper" made me chuckle, but look, you know, maybe there was some kind of message for us. Like, plants and herbs are far far better for us than ove-the-counter drugs for all that ails us. I must say I tend to agree with that concept. I agree with the rest of your post too. "Out For Justice" is good, but there are some others, like "Marked For Death" that I like equally.

Nobody had seen Richie, but he was gonna keep comming back 'til somebody remembers seeing Richie!!! yeah.

Well, Richie certainly got his come-uppance, didn't he?

He is just doing his JOB! He is a working actor and I am pretty sure that even during his best days he wasn't paid the really big bucks. So now he just has to take whatever is offered to him. He can't holdout for a good script. I am also a die-hard fan of his. I saw all the films in the movie theatres back when his movies were shown in theatres. Now he just has to take whatever work he is offered. If you have no job, what do you do? Do nothing or take something that will bring at least some money? There was an 'Under Siege 3' planned. I wonder whatever happened to that one. He could return to the big screen one day. Maybe he gets a good script some day. I personally thought though, that "The foreigner" was his worst movie.
I am still his fan, even though I should know better.

Try not - do or do not, there is no try!

reply

No sir. They problem is not with the scripts. The problem is with his obvious voice dubbing. Also, he fight women. Women!!!!!!!!!! B.S. There is no action what so ever until the end, when he faces a woman! There is no cool fights that he does, and his partner fights ten times better than him in this film! That is not acceptable! He is not past his prime (just look at Flight of Fury in comparison to this crap!). Also, you will see how good he suppose to fight in Urban Justice. Just get rid of the voice dubbing, obvious doubles (key word here is "obvious"), and let the man fight in his own way. Oh, yes and stop pasting his head on other people's body on the covers of his movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the worst of all. I

It really is a shame that Seagal allows himself to be used in movies such as this. The only way he can possibly recover is if he gets with the right director and writer and makes a movie in the style of his early nineties films.

007 [Regarding Max Zorin] - We played bridge together...He lost. (Everything or Nothing)

reply

This was indeed a sad installment. While the plot of the movie itself s entertaining enough, the horrible voice-overs and extreme close-up combat scenes which are obviously made that way in a pathetic effort to conceal that he's way past his prime, are the main reasons why this movie is BAD. But this doesn't mean that he needs to put his carreer to sleep. You don't need to be 20-30 years old and/or in great physical shape to fire guns, so if he just faced the fact that he's close to 60, drops the karate-stuff and sticks to guns, and last but least, uses his own voice from now on, he could still do some good.

That's how I see it, at least. :)
