I have to admit, I've read the first book but not the sequel. Does the second book (Something Blue) have all the main characters still in it- (Dex, Rachel, Darcy, Ethan, etc.)? Thanks! shareThe second one is about Darcy and her pregnancy. It's about her life in England. She lives with Ethan. It mentions Dex and Rachel quite a few times, but they aren't really IN it. She does see them once, and she talks to Rachel on the phone, but that's it.
shareAh- that's cool! I wonder then, how they'll incorporate Rachel and Dex in the film. It'd be cool if we could see them more in the movie than they were in the book. Since they changed some aspects of the first film to give Ethan more screen time, then perhaps they'll find a way to organically include Rachel and Dex more as well. That'd be nice. I really love all 4 of the characters equally! Thanks for the info! I'll have to read the book!

shareI hope they can redeem the Darcy character... after they completely butchered her character in the first movie, I'm not so sure if they can pull this one off. Darcy in the books was nowhere near as obnoxious, selfish, stupid, or mean spirited as the Darcy of the movie. She was a multi-faceted, relatable character who was shallow on the surface but loved her friends deeply, was charming and well-liked, and was even more devoted to Rachel than Rachel was to her. I loved Darcy of the books, and "Something Blue" is one of my absolute favorite books, but the Darcy of the movie was horrible and so unlikable and one-dimensional that I really think they're going to have a hard time making the story of "Something Blue" work.

i just met ginny at comic con a few weeks ago and she said she hadn't been asked back for 'something blue'. it surprised me, as i thought they had signed multiple movie deals. she said she thought either they would all come back, or all would be recast. we'll have to wait and see.
