comedians excelling in dramatic roles

I think this movie ranks up there for great performances by actors who are generally considered comedians. I was trying to think of other roles like this but was having trouble coming up with a list. Maybe someone could help

Robin Williams - Good Will Hunting (one of the best performances of all time imo, let alone for a comedian)
Jim Carey - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Majestic

Having a little trouble recalling, maybe someone can add to the list.

Robin Williams - "Dead Poet's Society"
Nick Cannon - "The Killing Room"
Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah, Dustin Hoffman: "Sphere"
Bryan Cranston - "Total Recall" 2013 version

those are the ones not mentioned in this thread, if you are still interested after all these years...

I'm all in your head, but you can call me Surreal Sista instead.

I have found that comedians (not all)can do very well at serious drama, IF they're given a chance

I am not a fan of Jim Carey, except for The Majestic, and me, Myself, and Irene

Steve Carell was brilliant in Foxcatcher, very serious dark role. Even Channing Tatum was good.
