This is one of my favorite movies and one of the reasons that I like it as much as I do is that Adam Sandler gives an absolute superb performance.
Having seen "Funny People" -a big dissapointment- lately, I can't help wishing that he should consider choosing more "dramatic" roles, because he did a fantastic job in Reign over Me!

shareI saw this movie last night and loved it. I enjoy movies where my emotions run the gamut. Sandler's portrayal was poignant with the just right amounts of levity.
Inquiring minds want to know: At a movie theater which arm rest is mine?
He is actually a classically trained actor from tisch school of the arts. A lot of famous actors/actresses came from there. He is also a decent singer. He should do more dramas.
shareI get the impression that he just likes to work with his friends and bang out silly movies. Even though he's done pretty well in his dramatic roles, I don't see him being high on the list for many "respected" directors unless they specifically want to work with him. Like Paul Thomas Anderson. He was also supposed to be in Inglorious Basterds but he was busy with Funny People. So who knows how many times something like that has happened.
