Is there a chance at a third film?

I really liked the first two and I was really mad when I heard that they were thinking of rebooting it. Any chance at a third one?

i dont think they will go with a 3rd movie now, i am sure they are writing the reboot as we speak or written it

the 2nd film was a flop in the US after marketing it didnt make anything at all

I wish there was a third film. If it is rebooted this cast should be in it. I thought they were comic book perfection! The plots in both films were weak. The cast got their parts right on and suffered terribly from so so stories....

I never liked the FF in the comics, so these movies were just fine wuth action, one liners and SFX. A reboot could be more faithful to the FF comics fans as it would be supervised by Marvel from start to finish, but it could be boring as a movie (and anyway the comics continuity is flawed as the characters haven't aged a day in 40 years of comics, and the story writer changes each year and changes powers, origins of the characters, some dead for many years come back with no explanation ... so some slight changes in the whole story are not so important).

Seriously man, I loved the character portrayal, weak stories aside. If they had a decent story it could save the franchise. By the way, the X Men First Class is one of the best prequel films ever!

reply

sure thing, but X-men readers must have gone mad! Howler, Havok, Darwin were not in the first team! it was Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast and Archangel!!! Abd the hellfire club appeared many years later! Scandal : this is not faithful to the Marvel continuity!
haha! Even X men the Last Stand would be more faithful to the X-men universe, as it introduced the majority of mutants losing thier powers like in the comics.
Anyway I say as long as the movie is good and entertaining, if it captivates a bit of the mood and some of the characters, everibody wins!

reply

well the second movie was 'PG', so it had it flaws? but i liked it more than the first movie.

reply

Technically it was Cyclops,Jean Gray, Iceman, Beast and Angel aka Archangel after experiments at the hands of Apocalypse aka Warren Worthington the III.

Though I loved First Class as a movie.

When men stop seeing movies because theres a "hot chick", movies will focus once again on story.

reply

After this disaster they would be much wiser to just reboot this lame franchise.

reply

and now that Chris evans now plays a second marvel character (the most stupid decision EVER) Captain America. It would be even more stupid if they continued Fantastic Four. a reboot is what they would need to do.

reply

I hope that FF4 flounders and doesn't get rebooted. I am sick to death of studios rebooting every few years. Forget it. I liked these films well enough and I don't need new versions AGAIN so soon. This is the exact reason I could care less about the new Spiderman. It doesn't capture my interest at all.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

Here here!! Instead of more & more remakes I say why not explore the very large Marvel universe & make some new films about other comics, it's not like there isn't enough to chose from.

reply

Yah it means Chris Evans won't be around for FF cos of CA

I do want to see an FF vs Avengers movie just like in the comic

I hope the time period lapses long enough for the rights to revert back to Marvel Studios. They would make a good film. They know how to take care of their own properties. I imagine they would just recast all the roles so the fact that Evans played the Human Torch in the past wouldn't be a factor. Besides, the Torch is supposed to be a kid when he first gets his powers so the now 30 year old Evans wouldn't be an ideal candidate for a relaunch movie.

reply

There is no chance of a third film. Chris Evans was right to move on to Captain America, which he is doing a good job with.

reply

I didn't really like the movies that much. Galactus being a cloud is probably why it did so poorly in the box office.

"Time to die! Like a man!" Venom Spider-Man Web of Shadows

Most likely be a Reboot to fit in with the film series. Most liekly to take place after Thor 2.

I agree with this. I enjoyed the first two movies, but they just don't hold up. They did pretty well with the Four's personalities (although Reed comes off as too weak). But they took one of the best villains in the comics (Doom) and ruined him, turning him into a generic villain. He has the same powers as the villain in the Howard the Duck movie. And messed up big time with Galactus as well. It was nice to see the Surfer, but they took one of the best stories ever written (the Galactus Trilogy) and completely missed all the charm of what made it work.

I'd like to see a version of the Fantastic Four that lives up to what they did with the Iron Man and Spider-Man movies. Or even the Thor and Captain America films.
