"9) Since when should movies teach lessons about guilt? "

Since this is a movie created by Bible thumpers I think.

23 reasons to hate this film??
I just need 1 to love it, Jim Carrey

Just like most people who trash good movies, your complaints are lame and have little to do with the film. I realize your post is somewhat of a joke, but that only makes it all the more obvious that finding fault with this film isn't so easy. As a matter of fact, the movie is damn good. I don't understand why so many people hate it. Jim Carrey does a terrific job in a dramatic role once again. He's really matured as an actor and thank God! Can you imagine if he were still doing rubbish like Ace Ventura or Dumb and Dumber now?!

Great post, eyesmalloy!

OP: 6) The wife was weird. I felt Virginia Madsen was the anchor of the movie. At one point, I wondered if she wrote the book. She's such a good actress and I look forward to future films. You know, she reminds me so much of the actresses from the 1940's. I will be seeing The Number 23 again!

I was on-board until the end. He was so delusional at this point that nothing was getting through through to him. . . until his kid says "Dad?", which snaps him back to reality?! Completely ruined it. If he would have just let the bus hit him, it would have been an awesome movie. That's my opinion anyway.

Ah, devil ether. It makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel.
