More time has passed between Rocky Balboa and now, than the gap between Rocky V and Rocky Balboa (16 years)
That just doesn’t compute. The change in culture between 1990 and 2006 was epochal. The change between 2006 and now is… barely anything.
And also you're perception of time changes as you get older. 16 years was a larger percentage of your life back in 2006, than the 18 years is to you today. I was thinking the same thing about the Star Wars movies recently. Return of the Jedi to Phantom Menace was 16 years, and Phantom Menace to The Force Awakes was 16 years as well I think, but the perceived gap between them seemed a hell of a lot less from PM to FA.
