One of the most underrated movies of all time

This movie is currently ranked #384 in the 1000 all-time greatest movies on TSPDT. Underrated on IMDb, yes. In general, no.

These aren't necessarily the most underrated movies in my opinion, simply movies which I've seen recently which I feel deserve a higher rating on IMDB. I don't care to take into account whether or not they were nominated or received awards. It's a matter of indifference.

Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain" is paradoxically one of the most polarizing and least recognized films I can think of. IMDB voters gave it a good rating but it's hotly debated on the board.

"The Wrestler" is Aronofsky's followup to "The Fountain." While it put him on the map, resurrected Mickey Rourke's career, and even earned Mickey an Oscar nod, I don't believe the emotional depth and originality of the script are fully appreciated.

I also think "The Aviator" and "Blow" are underrated films.

As for overrated films: easily a quarter of all films in IMDB's top 250. "Fight Club" is certainly one of the most overrated films; as well, with all due respect, as many Hitchcock films. I pity the fool who ranks "Tree of Life" up with "The Godfather" and "Shawshank Redemption."

How can a film that won the Palme d'Or be seen as underrated? How many Palmes d'Or did you want it to win.
