Why I refuse to watch this film

It's typical America/Hollywood propaganda. Casting American white actors for the roles of middle eastern/asian characters. As an Asian man myself, I find it insulting. I'm sure there are thousands of aspiring middle eastern actors in America that could have filled the roles. But as per usual, Hollywood caters to the American white man. And people ask why Hollywood is such a racist industry behind the times, with the dumb trash they spew out on a yearly basis just for money.

I've taken such a stand that I refuse to watch American films/TV ever again. I for one will not be whitewashed into their 'Americans are the good guys' bull. *beep* you, America.

You are Asian like a Chinese, Asian like South Indian, Asian like a Russian from Sakhalin or Asian like from Afghanistan?

Now the only true Europeans are those with the I haplogroup in their genes and they are a very, very small percentage of the population of Europe most of whom are from R1 haplogroup that originates probably from the region of Persia.

I can see your point of view, but in reality the studios dictate who stars in many movies, and they are usually after a well known faceSource:Prince of Persia sands of Time Reviewhttp://moviereviews.noskram.com/2011/06/prince-of-persia-sands-of-time -review

It was WAAAAAY too obvious that this movie had "white actors playing Persians."

I mean, YES, there are people from that area that have really light (and in many cases white) skin, but to use THAT as an excuse to have white actors playing Persians is still ridiculous. There is more to how someone looks than JUST skin color. There are certain facial features that are distinct to certain races.

That's like saying "well, because a lot of Chinese people have white skin, it's ok to use white English actors play all the Chinese in the movie, cause after all, the skin is the same."

I have nothing against people saying they like this movie, to each their own, but come on, let's be honest, it was so obvious that they had white actors pretending to be from the middle east.

Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things: Jack and sh*t and Jack left town

I agree with slade ^^^^^^^ The first thing I noticed aside from Jake's horrible UK-styled accent was there were all white people playing 'Persians.' It reminded me of those old westerns where all the 'indians' were played by white people with tanning make-up & wigs of long black hair on. And how many movies were there where asian or black people were played by white people with horrible make-up? Yes they were from ages ago, but this movie is modern day & actually made me think of that.

Meh. If this were 300 or another movie I could almost agree because you are reaching. Your point is valid but it dosn't fit. Prince of Persia is based on a video game, and Dastan from the game had a british accent [all of the characters did!] with his origins unknown. Not to mention Jake G does look like the the video game versian of Dastan so if any other accents were used it would be dumb then fans would be complaining about something else.

Jake's accent could have been better but the movie was based on the video game and not real historical events so please stop. Making mountains out of molehills.

They can't cast Arabian\Persian\Egyptians\Hindu action stars in American Block-busters
the best they can come up with is replacing a dark-skinned middle-eastern actor with a mexican
like in "scorpion king 2"
