shareThe scene that makes me feel exactly that is the shot where the knife-thrower is about to confront the blade-spitting Hassansin and retrieve the dagger. That brief shot where he's entering the room and staring around--with the tension of the upcoming fight, and the weight of his task--makes me think, 'Dangit, I would love to spend more time in this world.'
There's a book called "Desert of Souls" by Howard Andrew Jones that looks very similar.
