I hate to be a negative nellie, but this looks really bad. Cillian is doing this just to show his versitility.

I really don’t believe that. There must have been something about the role and story that he liked enough to want to take part in it (definitely didn’t do it for the $$ and I’m sure he’s not short on offers for other roles). He wouldn’t take part in a movie he thought was bad just for the sake of showing his versatility—that’d be a bad career-move. That being said, I hope they release it soon!

He did Red Eye and that was a bad script, he took it just to work with Cravn. And because he liked the fact that it was character driven. so he does take not so great roles for versatility.

the problem wiv most ppl they want to see actors like benn affleck who cant act for *beep* while there are actors like cillian murphy who are immense, his performances in sunshine and breakfats on pluto were amazing, as well as my personal favourite 28 days later and as for choosing this role to show his versatility that is a lie just look at breakfast on pluto, a transvestie called kitten, how versatile can u get!

I'm a huge Cillian Murphy fan. Out of the films I've seen him in (Intermission, Disco Pigs, Breakfast on Pluto, The Wind that Shakes the Barley, Red Eye, Batman Begins, On the Edge, Sunshine, and 28 Days Later), he's been excellent. And not one of his films that I've seen have been bad (I didn't like Batman, sure he was good, but the critics seemed to like it). He is one of the few actors who is totally and completely different in ever single role. When I'm watching one of his films, it's not as if I'm watching the actor play a different character...it actually feels like a completely different actor altogether. So his acting in this film will be good, therefore the film might have a chance from there. Plus, Cillian has said in the past that he is extremely picky with his scripts...he chooses scripts that have good writing and that are original. So....obviously this script should be good. I'm not worried at all.

I'm sorry I saw this last week and it was awful, and I kiss Cillian Murphy's feet and all the movies he has done to date!

i guess the OP was right after all. i think cillian is a great actor, but he didn't pull it off this time. i'm not sure the movie can even be called a "romatic comedy", but murphy was definitely not the right choice. or maybe it was the director's fault ...

I loved this movie and was totally with reserved expectations. Watch first, then judge.

i really liked it...had me guessing and it was really cute. casting luci liu was interesting and i'm not sure if the movie would have been different in it's effect if she wasn't. i gave it an 8 out of 10 as it was quirky and CM is such a treat for the eyes to watch. he was one of the producers on the film so i'm guessing he backed this one and rather early in his career. btw, i loved red eye.

I'd seen it like 4 times already and I LOVE it. I didn't think I would but I did. It's addictive. I think Cillian and Lucy did a great job in it. Cillian made me laugh several times. I never knew he was this freakin' funny and of course, as usual, being sooooooo cute.
