7 Things that were very WRONG about Notorious.

7. Angela Bassett's accent: It's public knowledge that Biggie's mother is Jamaican-American and has a very strong accent and I absolutely love Angela as an actress but the accent was all wrong in certain scenes it was stonger than in others. In my personal opinion Viola Davis woud have been more believable as Mrs. Wallace.

6. Faith Evans: The actress who played did the role of playing Faith some justice however we all know that in real life when Biggie and Faith met she wasn't petite like the actress who played her. The producers had 2 chocies on how to handle this either they could've told the actress to gain like 20 pounds or put some booty pads or something to make her look heavier.

5.The Sex Scene: First of all what the hell?! Why did the director feel it necessary to put the scene in there? It was distasteful no one wants to see petitie Lil Kim's boobs and Biggie's stomach fat juggling all over the place. It was completely unnecessary perhaps a tasteful love scene between him and Faith(considering she was his wife) would've been better.

4.Product Placement: I can't pinpoint how many times I saw products or things that were around AFTER he passed away. Exmples evryone knows that Air Jordans came out in the early 90s not the late 80s but for whatever reason the younger Biggie in the movie sees someone who has a pair on. Then ceratin cars in some scenes weren't even made and manufactured years until after his death as well as certain brands of clothing.Producers do your research.

3.Lil Kim and Biggie: There was way more to their relationship then what was portrayad in that damn movie. I guess the fact that Kim got pregnant by him but was told by him to abort the baby becuase it would mess up her career didn't mean anything to the producers. Also Kim had no real issues with Faith contrary to what was portrayed in the movie.

2.Tupac: Now as a big Tupac fan I was utterly disgusted and disturbed to find out of all people Anthony Mackie was chosen to portray the legendary Tupac shakur. Well he looks nothing like him, didn't portry his mannerisms well and they made him out to be this ultraparanoid backstabbing rapper which he wasn't.
They made complete mockery out of him and disrespected his image. I didn't buy it.

1. The Notorious B.I.G.: A round of applause to Jamal Woodard for his portrayel of Biggie however that's the ony positive thing I'll say to that. Now we all know that his mother executive produced the picture what I can't seem to agree with was why he was portrayed to be some damn saint? He disrespected every single woman in the picture and besides rapping he just smoked and slept around, they make him look so good and downplay Pac during the whole East Coast/West Coast stuff yet he makes a few phone calls at the end apologizing and trys to play a good father figure and I'm supposed to buy that? Well we all know the truth. They did way too much sugarcoating for me to believe it.

Shockingly I did enjoy the movie as a whole but I'm very big on honesty and sadly little of it was in this film. Anyone who agrees and disagrees share what you think as well I'm curious to know

7. I don't know much about Biggie let alone his mother to know that she had a heavy accent. I'm not a huge Angela Basset fan and sometimes I think she over does her role alot. I only liked her in What's Love Got to do with It. I wish they would have picked a different woman tho. It's so cliche to have her as a powerful mother. Variety please?

6. The girl who played Faith Evans wasn't bad but I really didn't get a feel for who she was. All I saw was she was the wife of Biggie. When in retrospect is all she'll ever be known as.

5. The sex scene I have to say impressed me. Wasn't expecting it and I thought it was great. One of the only scenes I actually did like. I'm not into sweet, soft, love making because let's be real... sex isn't always like that sometimes you just wanna *beep*. So kudos to them for that.

4. Product Placement, I did see some things out of place and just weird, but it didn't take away from the movie or what it was trying to do.

3. Lil Kim and Biggies relationship I loved. It reminded me sooooo much of my best friend and I's relationship so I could relate and learned from it. I felt seeing them throughout the entire movie and how they interacted together made the movie that much more interesting.

2. Now to the one I've been waiting for.... Tupac. Probably being the worlds biggest Tupac fan I was sooo sooo sooooo disappointed with the actor potraying him. I'd rather they not put Tupac in the film if it had to come to him playing the one and only. I mean no beef against the actor, I've seen him in other movies and he's not bad, but I mean come on really? That ruined it for me. He didn't capture who 'Pac was as a person, as a man, as a poet, an artist, an icon. The sparkle and beauty was just gone and it greatly disappointed me.

1. The actor who portrayed Biggie was great. He was a talent and was a pleasure to watch. ( Not the hugest B.I.G fan)

R.I.P Adam Goldstein AKA DJ AM..... Heaven will finally have it's house DJ. Rock that *beep*

The actress was good, but i agree her character wasn't developed very well. Faith Evans in real life is a talent in her own right, I keep finding myself listening to her. She has great joints ( and pretty recent ones) with Mos Def, Raekwon, Talib Kweli and a video with Saigon. Just because she isn't as famous as Biggie doesn't mean she is know just for being Biggie's wife.

I don't understand the problems with the other characters...the movie is called Notorious, and it is about Notorious BIG. Of course they're not going to fully develop every single character based on every single person that Biggie knew. The focus is on Biggie, and no, obviously even his character wasn't completely true to life. IT'S A MOVIE! Made for entertainment. I don't think anyone ever claimed that it was supposed to be a true to life film. It's not a documentary. Take it for what it is, a movie meant to entertain, not an educational film, and you will enjoy it much more. I think they threw real life out the window in the opening 5 seconds, when Biggie started narrating his own life...kinda hard to do that when your dead...just sayin'...

Everyone needs to get over all the stuff about the movie's facts not being straight and just enjoy the film.

"no one wants to see petitie Lil Kim's boobs"

Are you sure you can speak for everyone?

Remember...effin p diddy or whatever he wants to be called now was executive producer so he tried to take out all the bad stuff about biggie...I HATED how this movie made Pac look like a chump...btw I'm from Cali so it deeply offends me...but Jamal Woodard did do a great job and the movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be

I don't care that much about ANY of this, but, having seen ALL the real life stuff go down in the media years ago, I do know that Voletta Wallace is indeed Jamaican-American and has an accent. Did they think the audience was so stupid that they wouldn't be able to figure out what was goin' on if they gave the mom an accent? Couldn't they just have explained that in the movie somehow? Doesn't make sense.

And, as far as I'm concerned, Antonique Smith is MUCH HOTTER than Faith Evans. She's got the cleft chin and a wonky eye or somethin' and she is SEXY AS HELL! She seemed appropriately voluptuous to me!

the accent of angela basset was terrible. she acts the same in every movie.
