In an Instagram video, the former Glee star, who was ousted for failing to follow "competition production protocols," explained he sent a text message to a female contestant "because this dancer and I both share a mutual respect for a choreographer that I've known for over 20 years and I was trying to help her get a job as a choreographer on the show." Morrison's video left "a string of unanswerable questions," says Olivia Craighead, including: "In what world does a dancer have the power to get a choreographer hired on the show?," "Why wouldn’t Morrison just go to a producer on the show and recommend his friend?," "Why did he use the phrase 'talk you through some things?' Does he realize that sounds shady?" and "Why did he think it would be appropriate to get the phone number of a dancer whose dancing he is meant to be judging on the show?" Craighead also addressed Morrison complaining about being the subject of "toxic" gossip that "is destroying our society." As Craighead put it: "If you don’t want to be gossiped about, don’t do something worth gossiping about! That’s a little lesson Morrison could have learned from Lea Michele." Meanwhile, Morrison's wife, model Renee Puente, posted on Instagram Friday that "My husband has finally been given an opportunity to speak his truth. "He has done so with such grace and integrity in a situation that is complex and incredibly complicated."
