wait im confused. isnt Christian Slater like.. a good actor?

or was that just in the 90s?
maybe im behind the times with the whole dvd thing.. but i always thought "straight to video" movies were things "good actors" should avoid like the plague...

reply

He is a good actor and i don't understand why he has chosen to do the straight to video, He is better then that.

Slater bounces all over the place. He has given a lot of awful performances, and a handful of good ones. His career is not comparable to his peers, Nic Cage (who admittedly has also done some turkeys) or Kevin Bacon (maybe one or two turkeys). You want to see Slater at his best? Watch UNTAMED HEART.

Christian Slater 2 me is a decent actor, who I recall from "Pump Up the Volume" & the a4mentioned "Untamed Heart." I guess this is kind of the nadir or something next 2 it as I just learned that "Hollow Man" had a sequel, & straight-2-DVD, natch. & it seems causal fans hopefully will 4get about this film as he appears on a knew fall drama on NBC called "My Own Worst Enemy." Best of luck w/ that, though, meaning the # of show's episodes should out-# the # of promos, as 9 out of 10 fall shows get canceled from my point of view. Incidentally, "My Own Worst Enemy" doesn't sound interesting 4 me 2 watch.

I have no idea or a clue as to why he did this, anymore then I wonder why Hilary Swank went from academy award winning movies to films like the resident, maybe big-hit-names just have a moment of 'I will do this just for the Hell of it' moment, you know.

You are making the assumption that Slater would know how this movie would turn out. That he would automatically know the movie would not be that good. Making a movie is not as simple as most people seem to think. From the original idea and script, then filming, then editing, there are so many variables: things that could go right or wrong or mediocre.

Anyway, the original movie was decent and there is at least a potential of a good movie if you simply pitch the idea of an invisible assassin that is used for political gain. Might be worthy of a chance, especially if there was no far superior option available for Slater at the time.

Sig, you want a sig, here's a SIG-sauer!

Actually - any actor should only check who is directing the film to see what it will most likely end up being.
The director of this film was fairly new - but his prior films were turds.

exoDUST, LOL I'm only about 35 mins into the movie, and CS has NOT been shown yet. Juan would think he turned INVISIBLE or somethang! Oh wait...:P
Yes, established A-List actors usually NEVER accept these STV movies. CS is just BARELY A-LIST IMO.
I got a great deal on a HUGE box of DVDs, about 120 of them for $80.00 delivered! Most of them are B movies, but there are a few winners that I watched already. I have them stacked against the wall, and I haven't even looked at them yet. I like SURPRISES! :P
"THE DEPARTED" was in the lot and I watched that last week! That's a Scorsese product, and I just read online that he and Leo Dicaprio are planning to do a blockbuster movie about that serial killer from 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair, HH Holmes. They say it will be released in a few years.
I read the book last year called "Devil In White City". This guy was WAY OUT THERE!
