Am I the only one who thought that Daniel Plainview had a very similar vibe to Timothy Dalton's James Bond?

Am I the only one who thinks this? I know that John Huston (primarily his character from Chinatown) was a big inspiration behind Plainview's demeanor and style of speaking, yet I also felt like Dalton's 007 quite possibly served as an inspiration here. I mean - Dalton's Bond is a very Byronic and brooding sort of character, the exact same can easily be said about Plainview.

Thoughts?

I never thought about that when I saw the movie but looking at the poster he does sort of look like Timothy Dalton.

There’s a slight physical resemblance and both characters are pissed off 90% of the time, but that’s about it.
