Birth slavery of the lower middle class

She did not want to have this baby. The more the pregnancy progressed the more her regret and loss (loss of a social life, opportunities) intensified. A lower class, or basically ''poor'' teenage girl had unintentionally served the purpose of a ''birth slave'' for an upper middle class couple who couldn't get pregnant themselves. She was 100% naive and immature in every single way, she had no idea what she'd be giving up in order to satisfy the needs of another wealthy woman. The quirky dialogue can not soften the blow of this terrible story.

And I know the film dashes over the ending quickly. But pay attention to the birth and post birth scene of Juno in the bed. Look at her face - she is terrified and suffering. As she lies on her side once the baby is taken away she appears absolutely devastated. At this point in the film the quirky dialogue instantly stops because she has lost her emotional innocence. Just because the next seen is her on a bike and playing guitar on the steps does not mean all is ''well'' in her head. She is never the same psychologically.
