Correct me if i am wrong as it has been awhile since i have seen this but i don't remember them Having Big Mama in this. Did they? I think if they didnt,it was in Memory of Pearl Bailey. But i was disapointed that she wasent in this.
shareUnfortunately, there was no Big Mama, Dinky, Boomer, or Squeaks in this movie. Much as I missed their presence, it is true that Big Mama wouldn't be the same without her original voice actress, and perhaps they just didn't even feel it would be worth trying to replace her and recapture that character now...maybe out of respect for Pearl...at any rate, I enjoy the "midquel" for what it is. Frankly, I think it would work better as a separate film about the Singin' Strays, with only a loose tie or reference to The Fox & the Hound at most. But, it is what it is, and what it is is still quite cute. ^^
shareIMHO, Della Reese would've done a good job picking up where Pearl Bailey left off as Big Mama. My family and I thought it was her instead of Pearl for a long time. But you're probably right, it may have been out of respect.
