I remember how much fun I had when I first saw this movie, seriously it's a movie you can watch over and over again, not that I do it, but if I can't think of a movie to watch, this is one of the movies that will always entertain me, it's just pure mindless fun, it's a bit like playing Painkiller on the PC for the first time.
I saw Red yesterday, and it didn't take long for me to think of this movie, tbh. this movie is way superior to that, mostly because it doesn't try and mess around with half baked romance with no chemistry, the closest you get to romance in Shoot Em Up is a sex scene with loads of action(Shooting Action btw.)
Not my kind of "fun" then. Barely a plot, mixed messages and lots and lots of unrealistic violence. Ya. Fun.
It was impossible to attain a "suspension of disbelief."
Warning: I probably read the book first.
Sorry, I completely "got" the movie, I still didn't like it. It had it's moments but it gets boring pretty quickly.

you're exactly right, when I seen the title and the jacket , I thought to myself this is a movie that's gonna entertain me,, I want entertainment. I didn't want a love story, or a lot of thought, just action, and I totally love this movie.
