No matter what people say, Tilda Swinton deserved the oscar
She was very brilliant and subtle. The ending scene with her and George Clooney would be enough for her to win.

shareShe was pretty awesome. But Cate Blachett was like, out *beep* standing. She would have had my vote all the way.

I agree with the OP. Tilda Swinton was incredible in this role. You should check out We Need to Talk About Kevin. Another brilliant, sublime performance.
She's one of the best. And she is beautiful btw!

There really was nothing there because there wasn't much of a part there. She did far better in Burn After Reading in my opinion. Instead of her winning it really should have been Tom Wilkinson winning Best Supporting Actor because he was perfection. Clooney was good in the movie but Wilkinson is the one I remember.
sharetotally agree. superb scene.
shareI agree. She was amazing, as usual. I just watched the last 15 minutes again / only, just to see the final scene between her and Clooney. The way she trembled as the realization hit her, then dropped to the floor - brilliant performance. For those who say she was so subtle she wasn't doing anything - obviously aren't into anything that's not obvious.
I'd love to see her, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep in a movie together. Can you imagine?
Her performance was good enough for the Oscar.
Its that man again!!
uh gosh.really???weaver was much better with a much more uncooperative role (little girl from kansas)
Not at all, I think Tilda Swinton's performance is one of the most underwhelming Oscar Wins, i wouldve been surprised if she was Oscar nominated, but WON is even crazier... She definitely deserves an oscar because she is a great actress, but not for this film, because IMO she wasnt that good, very underwhelming and mediocre
