Charming and genuinely funny

This had been sat on the recorder for a while, as, while I'd heard good things about it, I wasn't sure if I really wanted to watch it or not. But, last night, there was nothing worth watching on after "Ripper Street". So, I put it on... I'm so glad I did - I really enjoyed it... It gently and affectionately takes the piss out of traditional animated fairy tales and is so well-written that it manages to be both very funny and quite sweet and the characters are well-rounded and engaging... A fab film.

I agree. Enchanted is a beautiful movie.

Cool.

It is quite funny, though i would have preferred it to be a bit less sentimental myself. It reminded me a bit of a short lived sitcom from the late 80s called The Charmings, though that was played more for laughs.

As a grown middle aged man, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. So much better than I thought it may have been. 8/10.

I’ve just introduced my 6 year old daughter to this and she thought it was hilarious.

She is obviously a wise connoisseur of fine films. Good for her.

You’re too kind. We’ve rattled through quite a few films since Lockdown.

I posted a request about a month ago in General Discussion asking for kid friendly suggestions and I received over 250 suggestions. I’ve introduced her to a few classics and favourites from my childhood along with newer stuff and she’s having a ball so far.

I saw this in theaters with my brother :D. It's a cute story and definitely something I would be okay letting kids watch. It's one of those "fractured fairy-tales" that just works. It was also a chance for Disney to poke fun at itself and to give everyone a good laugh. My favorite part was that Giselle wasn't the only one to have a happily ever after. A bunch of her friends and acquaintances got happy endings too!
