What are YOUR top 5 favorite episodes.

I know, it's a bit hard to pick your favorites. The show has produced some absolutely amazing episodes. So, which are the first five that come to mind? I'll go first. In no particular order whatsoever.

1. Changing Channels: The boys are trapped in 'tv world' by the 'Trickster Loki'. Hilarity ensues. Awesome parodies included.

2. Baby: The 222nd episode of the show. Told from the Impala's perspective. Saw the preview for this episode & thought it was gonna be Meh but it absolutely blew me away. So well done.

3. The French Mistake: The Boys get transported into an alternate reality where they're just actors name Jared Padalecki & Jensen Ackles & star in a show called 'Supernatural'.

4. Yellow Fever: Dean gets infected by a 'Ghost sickness' & is now afraid of everything. Jensen is so freaking hilarious in this episode.

5. Mystery Spot: Another "Trickster" episode. Where Sam keeps reliving the same day over & over again and Dean keeps dying

Honorable mentions to... Weekend at Bobby's, Scoobynatural, Bad Day at Black Rock, Tall Tales, Lazarus Rising, Lebanon, Frontierland & Monster Movie to name a few

I have 4 of yours in my top 5 all but Baby, I think my 5th would be Hell House. I really enjoyed the Ghostfacers.

I really need to rewatch the first few seasons. Especially seasons 1 to 4. It's been so long that I've genuinely started to forget some episodes.

Season 1 had some pretty amazing horror episodes. Hell House being a prime example.

Ok, your list proves my point. I really REALLY need to dust off my old DVD sets & rewatch the first few seasons

Cause just like Regarding Dean, I'm slowly starting to forget a chunk of the earlier season's episodes

There really are some strong episodes and tried to pick a couple from each season, but the later seasons didn't appeal to me as much. This little show produced some amazing mythology which is what I've always loved about it, along with some truly amazing, memorable characters. I still can't pick my favourite season from 2, 4, and 5.

For me personally, Season 5 is my absolute favorite. With the exception of one or maybe 2 episodes, The season is absolutely perfect

It has so many phenomenal episodes. One after the other.

Don't get me wrong, I still liked the later seasons. They produced some brilliant standalone episodes but as far as seasons as a whole go, they're nowhere near as good as the first 5 seasons.

Seasons 1 to 5 were CONSISTENTLY amazing. Each season was like upping the ante. Somehow finding a way to outdo themselves

I think the day when we lost Eric as show-runner was a real blow to the show. Yes, we have had some amazing episodes, since but as you say not as many good ones in a row as earlier seasons. Eric new what his vision would end up like, he had planned those seasons so damned well. As viewers we can now see looking back what a dream that vision was. He knew how to grab our attentions, keep us hooked and wanting more of the same. Carver was my next favourite show-runner, but S8 was his worst downfall. Dabb was always a good writer seasons 1-5 were proof of this but I think he lost sight when he became a show-runner. I also believe similar happened with Gamble. We really had a mixed bunch of show-runners when I look back.

Can’t recall the specific episode. But the ones where they fought Lucifer. The one where Dean shoots Lucifer in the head with true Colt, and the finale where Sam pulls Michael into Hell

reply

That'll be, "Abandon All Hope" & "Swan Song" respectively.
