This morning i was watching "The View", and there were about 2 dozen people siting in the 2 front rows in the studio. All of them proudly wearing the same shirt, that said "El Cantante." Funny part is, that Marc Anthony came out for an interview and pretended to be surprised, AS IF we all didn't know that J.Lo and Marc himself told these idiots if you wear this t-shirt, you get a little air time. These people were screaming and cheering. Good Actors!! Maybe Marc promised them a SAG Card!

And no, I have not watched the film, to tell you the truth all these bad reviews make me glad I didn't! But i guess I'm not alone, judging by the poor theater count.

J-Lo really had this year planned out. Think about it, she does a biographical picture (biopic), and thinks she can give Reese Witherspoon a run for her money AND she does a all Spanish album. Hoping that she can dance her way into getting a LATIN Grammy (Because she knows she'll never get a REAL Grammy...) She MIGHT get a Latin Grammy, because some Latino critics might be excited that a Hollywood (falling) star is in their company and entertaining the Latino community *shrugs*

As for Oscar? Judging from reviews and trailers, she's gonna have to keep dreaming for that Oscar. No amount witch-craft and azz shaking is going to make her get a nomination.

As for divorce? Not until Marc gets to mingle with all the Hollywood heavyweights; like Beckhams, Cruise, Smiths ect ect. And not until J-Low finishes her tour with Marc. We'll see what her plans are for next year!!

If you don't like J Lo and Mr Anthony, it's ok, but it has nothing to do with this movie, the movie is an indie effort, not a blockbuster superproduction, so that's why the premiere wasn't pompous or enourmous. You also are talking about a movie you haven't whatched, very bad... So any opinion given from you about the movie is not valid, you are not a racist... Racism is another point out of context in this matter, so I guess you really are very racist indeed.
In the end...You didn't say anything important or with any sense at all. Open up you mind more, listen to latin music, go to latin bars, learn more before writing anything. There's a wide world beyond Hollywood and it's cruises Witherspoons, Beckhams and the rest.
P.D. Latin Grammies are as real as the other Grammies. that's why I think you are very racist.

I must be crazy, because I actually enjoyed the film. I think this is Jennifer Lopez's best yet, since Selena.
Marc Anthony did a great job portraying Hector Lavoe.
As for your comments, you just sound like a bitter and envious person. Why not? Marc and Jennifer will have what you will only dream of.
At least Jennifer HAS a latin Grammy..how many Grammys do you have in your home? I'm willing to guess none.
Do us all a favor.

I am not a big J-Lo fan, but i did not judge this movie before watching it.
I was like many others dissatisfied with the movie. Not with the acting though i think j-lo and marc gave great performances. I just wished it would have focused a little more on what a big star he came to be and not his bad drug use.
I didn't know much about Ray Charles or Selena before watching their movies. But the movies made it clear what huge stars they became. That's where this movie dropped the ball. For non latinos who don't know about salsa this movie just showed Hector as another spanish singer hooked on drugs.They should have named the movie "Death of Hector Lavoe" than i would have expected all the negative and his sad death.

Three points here: 1) thank you for warning us that you're not racist, otherwise, we couldn't have noticed it from your comment. But be careful, saying it is not enough, hon, but you have to look (and sound) like it. 2) How can you express such a judgement on something when you don't even have any concise basis? It's simply not logical, instead, it's ludicrous. 3) You lost your point because this statement reflects you dislike and hate on someone, that you might like her/him or not, but is presenting a piece of work which is the matter here, and you don't give an opinion on it, instead you enlist your reasons for your anger. And last, but no the least: congrats, you should be a sort of magic foreteller, since you "told us so" and predicted the future, rise and fall of the people in the movie. Brilliant.
