If it makes you feel better, I chose not to watch this movie either, or read the book. I was a fan of Anne Hathaway back then, and couldn't bear the idea of her being abused the way Andi was in the story. I did, however, read up on the story plotline for both the movie and book, and frankly, it sounded even worse than I thought, so it seems I didn't miss anything.
To be fair, the only part of the fashion world that's fun anyway is looking at the outfits on the runway. Other than that, it's a nasty, cutthroat world that is vaguely similar to Hollyweird.
