Surprisingly 'adult' show.

I'm currently on Season 1, Episode 5: "Rookies". So far this show has surprised me with how adult it is in terms of the dangers of war.

We see dozens of clones being killed on screen. And thousands being killed off screen with the ships being destroyed.

One clone is eaten alive, another is gunned down and then sacrifises himself to save his "brothers".

I'm not used to children's shows being this "adult" and I'm pleasently surprised.

So far, I'm really enjoying this.

true have you counted the amount of deaths in the show, it's surprisingly high

reply

Yeah, it's insanely high for a kids/family show. Also, the way some of the characters die are not very child-friendly. Like when Ahsoka insta-decapitated five or six Death Watch guys.

Funny how it is more mature than the prequel films.

reply

Yeah, for a really childish show, it can be mature when it wants to. That's why, despite being 18 years old, I enjoy this series.

I wasn't too shocked by the death and violence. It was completely sanitized, and by season 2 I was completely used to it.

The one moment that did take me completely by surprise, though, was when the Mandalorian guy who tries and fails to kill Satine actually commits suicide (on-screen) rather than let himself be questioned by Obi-Wan. No idea how they got that past Disney, but it was very unexpected and awesome.
