Who Thought This Looked Terrible from the Preview, But Then Loved It??

When this first came out I thought the movie looked absolutely terrible. But then when I saw it I loved it more than anything out there!

Introduce them to Punchy McGee and Fisty O'Flannagin!

Theres only one part of the previews i remember and i loved it, i think it was a tv spot

When Dante is stoned to hell and the phone is ringing:

Dante: Whats that ringing? Do i have a tumor?

From now on I shall stand for the opposite of killing. "Gnodab"

That's actually the part that I thought was stupid in the preview.

Who Thought This Looked Terrible from the Preview, But Then Loved It?? -- And aren't you now ashamed of yourselves?

Two simple rules: A) If you don't think you'll like a movie, trust yourself, you may not. B)If the movie stars Adam Sandler, just know, it will suck bad

3 Mysteries of Man: #1)Time/Space continuum #2)Who shot JFK? #3)Adam Sandlers career

First off the movie DOESN'T star Adam Sandler, he's not in the movie. His production company made the movie.

Second, Adam Sandler is one of the highest paid comedians right now, he makes like $20 million a picture. He has huge draw. And he's made a ton of great films: Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, The Waterboy, Mr. Deeds, Reign Over Me, Punch-Drunk Love, the list goes on.

Some movie goers like to bash Sandler and his posse just because they think they are too good for his brand of humor. I feel bad for them, it must suck not ever being able to laugh.

That is EXACTLY what happened to me with this movie! I saw the preview and dismissed it as stupid nothingness. Then, like 2 years later I watched it. I think I've watched it like 60 times since! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

that is what happend to me i thought this was going to so dumd but what i saw i really liked and have watched every time it has come on tv

Same thing happened to me. I saw a preview for it while sitting in a theater waiting for the movie to start, and my (then current, now ex-)wife and I just rolled our eyes, shook our heads at each other, saying "Nahhh, I don't think so." We both thought that it looked stupid, just really bad.

Flash-forward many months.

My now-ex and I were at home, her nephew came by. Asked if we'd seen it, as he had the DVD and wanted to lend it to us. We borrowed it; never watched it; returned it unwatched to him.

Flash-forward many months....again.

It shows up on cable one night, and I watch a few minutes...and I am HOOKED instantly. I showed it to the (then current, now ex-)wife; she loved it as much as I do. Many, many nights we sat around, got stoned, and watched this....and laughed, and laughed, and laughed. I am no longer with my ex...but I use this movie as a guage to test any new chick's sense of humor out...you know, to see if we are compatible in that way.

Don't judge me, monkey. ;)

Yep, based on how I felt about the previews I'm surprised I bothered to watch it at all. Glad I did!
