Feelings on Prison Break as a whole?

I am a big fan of the old show Supernatural. One of the things that I remember drawing me into that show was the chemistry between the brothers. Their dynamic was so strong, and you could feel when either of them were low they would talk to each other and discuss it.

At the time when Prison Break came out, I had my doubts about the show being too violent and showing the same type of plots. I was surprised how soon it did finish compared to Supernatural's 15 year run. That being said, PB's story telling I thought was always up there, but the violence remained, particularly with characters such as T-Bag, John, and sometimes even Myles. The prison guards were hard noised and was to be expected.

So when you first started watching this show, what other show reminded you of it, and why did you stay tuned in for the long haul?
