So the actual villain (Madeleine White, Jodie Foster) won?
Seems to me that she was really the core villain here and she played the bank owner like a fiddle and basically got away with what she wanted in the end.

shareUh, no. Watch it again. She’s beaten as well.
shareHow was she beaten?
shareHer goal was to prevent the banker's past crimes from being revealed. The bank robbers brought it to light.
shareShe blackmailed the banker and got a ton of money and she faced no repercussions.
shareThen in turn Denzel's police detective blackmailed her into turning Christopher Plummer's character into the war crimes division. So the money he gave her was all for nothing because he's still going to get turned in and his past crimes will be revealed. Which would then probably ruin her reputation and put her out of business.
shareThis movie was Woke, before Wokeness had entered our lexicon. The lesbian was smarter than all of the conceited, dumb men, and she won in the end. Despite being a thoroughgoing reprobate
shareRight before your notification came through, I just got finished writing a comment about how the racist undertones and the racist talk in this movie were realistic and how most people, especially New Yorkers, in real life speak LOL. And it's never implied that she's lesbian in this movie. And she doesn't win in the end she gets beat by Denzel's character.
sharemorons like you didn't exist in 2006. you gotta wonder if you're seeing shit that was never a problem.
shareShe really did.
shareShe certainly won in the end and didn’t suffer any consequences.
