Why all the hate?

No hate, just disappointment.

Don't know about "everybody". Judging by the over-the-top gross income of the flick it's on very short terms with the viewers. But personally think that it is an awful film.

Number one. Family entertainment? Come on. It shows a little kid slapping an old man in the face just for fun (or was it "Hi! Glad to see you!"). Brilliant. You want your kids slap you in the face with all their might every time they see you?

Number two. Bean is old here. You can clearly see wrinkles on his face. You can feel it. But the actor tries hard to be in the same "Whistler's Mother" mould. Bad move. It arouses pity in an attentive viewer.

Number three. When you know that the character in the wooden cabin is smashed by the truck and then you see him again running away, it reminds of "Airplane". "Bean" of the 1990s was realistic. He was a weird next-door guy. But here he becomes a comic-book hero. Maybe you like it, but to me the whole Bean world has been ruined by this. Oh, he is invincible now and... not human anymore. Bad move.

Number four. Bad dialogue. Just compare it to the original "Bean" movie. There you could just grab a pen and put one one-liner or witty phrase after another, making a thick booklet in the end. Here, what would you write down?

"Bean" is one of my all-time favourite comedies. Have watched it at least 5 times. It was almost perfect in every little detail. And so funny that each time of watching there are tears in my eyes. Bean really was a disaster for the USA. But here he is just a little old man, being from time to time slapped in the face (for our “entertainment”), with no potential to bring even a slight havoc.

Too bad the end of this brilliant character is very sad. Maybe he should have gone to Australia. And before he got old.

Because people are sad pathetic pricks who think its much more fun to be picky, grammer, orientated ass holes than just sit and have a laugh.
Dont worry they will die alone never knowing what a good chuckle feels like.

Because people who "critique" movies generally think they should behave like very ordinary people such as Richard Roeper doing their best to pretend to evaluate "art," rather than people who would "merely" like to be genuinely entertained.
