Am I the only one who thinks Jack Frost is hot?

Okay, as weird as this may sound I think Martin Short's character is very cute. Not the "family movie" cute, I mean the actual "OMG, He's really hot!" I know it sounds weird and his picture on this site does not do him justice, but the movies he's in make him look very attractive. Oh the wonders of makeup. I don't care that he's old either, Johnny Depp is old but girls think he's hot to. Watch the Three Amigos and you may see what I mean when I say Martin Short is hot. And I also absolutly love this movie, it's may favorite out of the 3.

reply

Trust me, you're not alone. I've already seen this movie twice because of his character. I absolutely loved the conversation he had with Carol's mother-in-law where he kept wanting her to sing. His reaction cracked me up! And yea, Martin Short is a good looking guy, but something about him as Jack Frost was really attractive.

reply

I don't think he's hot, but I really like his character.
So, I'm out.

reply

Not hot, but attractive, in a weird way. A 'sleazy cheesy way' as Martin Short himself put it. Jack Frost is an interesting character, to say the least. Definite high point of the movie.

And yes, Martin isn't too bad looking for a guy who's 56. He and Johnny Depp are very fortunate when it comes to looks; they both look at least ten years younger than their actual age.

Exactly. I wasn't in love with him, but he looked attractive. The magic of make-up.

He looked about 30 or 35 with or without the make-up. Am I right? He really looked surprisingly young. I was in awe when I saw he was 56!! *gasp*

reply

I was very surprised he was that old! He looks very good for his age in my opinion. But then again..I find Frank Sinatra attractive and he'd be in his 80's if he wasn't dead! Lolol I think his character being so lovable is the main attraction..plus the hair. I loooove the hair.

reply

And the outfit, but I am in love with the hair, too!
I asked the costume express people to make a Jack Frost costume.
They're still supposed to send me an e-mail bout it, but I hope it turns out OK.
I also gave them pics of the outfit.

reply

No offense, but I don't think I'd find you as attractive as Jack Frost :-P lolol that'd be an awesome costume though! His hair is such a turn-on..whenever he came onscreen I just wanted to reach out and touch it lol.

reply

WOW. I was just wondering if I was the only one and if I should make a post and BAM! Here you are! And 56??? Daaaaaaaaaaaaang! I guess cryogenics really IS all it's cracked up to be... (a few nerds laugh half-heartedly) Yeah, that was lame. But Jack was beautiful. So crafty and conniving and blue-haired. Plus I love a man in a suit, especially a faded, washed-out icy blue one. :)

(My secret Martin Short shame?... I LOVED him as Preminger in the Barbie movie "The Princess and the Pauper." My sister has the soundtrack and I listen to his song, "How Can I Refuse" all the time. Watch it if only for his gold high-heeled pumps. Yes, go watch it! Right now, before you start to make fun of me...)

reply

I just watched Father of the Bride, and I LOVED Martin's performance! His accent was so HILARIOUS! Although, I'm not entirely sure what country he's from. Some help on that would be appreciated.

I think a friend of mine has the soundtrack to that movie. I think I'll ask to borrow it. :pauses, then laughs: I believe I've entered my Martin Short fanatic phase. Go Martin, and go Jack Frost!

reply

I just watched Father of the Bride too! I saw it was on and I knew he was in it so I sat down and watched it. Creeeeeeepy! Lol yes indeedy I feel a Martin Short phase approaching.

reply

I'm going to rent Father of the Bride II. Martin's in that too; I wonder how. He's a wedding coordinator, and I don't think there's a wedding in the second film, is there? If not...well, who cares. Frahnk was one of the most amusing characters!

reply

MArtin Kinda creeped me out in Father of the bride i mean really who understood a word he said.Of and has any one watched the pebble and the penquin he sings in that movie alot to.

I invented chill!/JackFrost

reply

I'm in with you. When I saw the previews to this I was all, "Oh, wow. Martin Short?! He looks.. hott in this movie." Actually, when I say "hott" I use is very loosely. I.. guess I just mean attractive..? I'm not making any sense.. Anyway, when I went to go see it, as I was standing in line for popcorn, I couldn't beleive how excited I was just to stare at Jack Frost. I don't know. Something about Jack Frost is very, very nice. :3

When I was watching this years Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Martin Short was there I was all, 'OMGosh. He's old. D:"

Did you just accuse me of being skillful and delicious?

reply

I also look at him and can't help but think:

"I'm Mr. White Christmas-I'm Mr. Snow.
I'm Mr. Icicle-Mr. 10-below."

reply

Hm..that's kind of cool. I haven't seen the second Father of the Bride in a looooong time so I don't remember if Short is in it..

WOW thanks for posting that fan site!!!

From the moment I saw the SC3 trailer in the cinema I was hooked! Before I had seen the film I knew most of the quotes (helped by the trailer) and then when I saw the film for the first time, my heart raced everytime Jack Frost came onto the screen, and as for that flirty moment with the step-mother and also the scene with him and Mrs Clause talking around the christmas trees, well I couldn't stop the smile on my face! I mean the character is so hot with the sexy hair and costume, and now I'm fast growing into a Martin Short fan! Although it's mostly Jack Frost who I am really interested in. I'm so glad I'm not the only one and btw check out the SC3 main site, it has a few unseen videos in the advent calender section!

It's at the thread titled 'Foolish to Change Jack's Look.'

Is it me or does Jack Frost's eyes look surreal? I think Martin is actually wearing contact lenses or something because they look extra blue and extra... evil!! I also liked that icicle necklace thingy he wears! Oh and omg did anyone notice his shoes?? THEYRE AWSOME lol when I saw them I was like i want a pair even though they're males shoes and I'm female lol

reply

I'm sure he does wear colored contacts, because Martin Short's eyes aren't that pale.

Yes, his shoes are cool! I don't remember the necklace, though; I'll have to check that out.

Proud member of Team Norrington!

reply

I don't remember the necklace either..I do remember loving his shoes though! I was the same, when I first saw a commercial for SC3 and saw Martin Short as Jack Frost I knew I'd be hooked. I saw it twice in the theaters and ANY time he was onscreen my heart was pounding so much lol. My favorite scenes are the flirty scene where he's drinking cocoa with Carol's mother and when he's with Carol looking at Christmas trees too.

reply

Favorite scenes? Give me a moment....

When Jack's with Carol looking at Christmas trees.

When he freezes Lucy's parents, because I love his voice in that scene: 'Now am I going to have to do the same to you?' Very nice evil moment there!

In the 'climactic' scene beginning when Scott kicks Jack into all of those presents (I got to admit, it was funny, especially when Jack said: 'I'm gonna kick the coal out of whoever did that!') ending when they go back to Scott being Santa and Jack being Jack again.

The Council scene.

The moments before Lucy hugged him, when he's making fun of Scott for 'sending a little girl in to save the day.'

The scene with Lucy and Scott, as Santa, in the Hall of Snowglobes (it was a sweet scene; and when Jack was on the other side of the wall as it turned... Nice scary moment).

Scene when Curtis explains the Escape Clause.

The first scene between Scott and Mrs. Claus, despite that the scary fireplace that ate Bernard was in there.

And I think that's it. At least, my favorite favorites. There's a lot of Jack in them, as you probably noticed.

<---------I love this icon! Three guesses why, and the first two don't count!

reply

Am I the only one who laughed at the irony of Jack FROST being considered HOT?^^

He was awesome though.

reply

It's a nice little bit of irony, isn't it?

He IS awesome. He made the third movie as good as it did, or rather, Martin Short's performance as Jack Frost did. If they'd cast anyone except Martin Short for the part then it wouldn't have worked half as well (probably; we'll never know if perhaps someone could've done it even better, but I doubt it).

Proud member of Team Norrington!

reply

All those scenes I consider some of my favorites too. I loved how they added "Eh" to everything they said too. Especially loved the "I'm gonna kick the coal out of whoever did that!" line..I laughed so hard..and embarrassed the people around me!

Ah, irony. It's a wonderful thing lol.

Jack Frost has been slacking lately, it's been almost 60 degrees out where I'm at! Hopefully tonight/tomorrow there will be snow!

reply

You know what I'd love to see? The transformation from Martin Short into Jack Frost. I think it would be really interesting to see the process of the prosthetics being added, the make up, the hair, the contacts and the costume.

There should so be a section of the DVD dedicated to Jack Frost!!

Merry Frostmas!!

reply

Jack Frost is not slacking off where I live! It's about twenty degrees outside, last night there was a HUGE ice storm (literally; there's ice on the trees, the roads, the sidewalk, everywhere; the trees look pretty when the sun hits them, but otherwise, it's a bad thing: they keep breaking off and falling on houses), school was canceled, loads of trees were killed or are going to die, the power is out for about 50% of the town. It's terrible! Naturally, Jack would be proud of himself.

There should be a section! I'd watch that over, and over, and over, and over, and...well, you get the point (and I'm sure agree!).

I've written a HOT and believable fanfic story revolving around Jack's personality specifically and a new character, and what they get up to un the north pole! Anyone have anywhere I could post it? It's 4 pages long :D

[deleted]

Yea we had a huge storm yesterday too, no snow or ice but definate windage. I had to work too, and everyone kept coming to the McDonalds I work at because the other ones had no power. Let me just say..no one in their right mind should order twelve cheeseburgers at one time along with five other things. We finally got some snow today though.

reply

Funny thing is, there were only a few stores open at first yesterday, one of which was McDonalds, and the line was so long.

No snow, though, thankfully (we do not need it or else more of the trees will probably snap). It's just very, very cold.

I'd love to read that fanfic! You've got to tell me what site you put it on!

Proud member of Team Norrington!

No you're not oblivious at all. Most people don't know who Zach is yet. If he gets recognized now, it's rarely from "Hollywoodland". It's mostly "Hey aren't you the kid from the toilet in the T-Mobile commercial where your dad bursts in...?" Most of his work hasn't come out yet.

I have been a fan of Martin Short for many years. I think he's the greatest character actor alive. So my husband had to take the photo. I was too much in awe to even speak to him. But I did notice that he was SOOOO nice to everyone. He mingled at the party, he would talk to anyone. Truly a very down to earth person. That's also director Michael Lembeck in the photo.

We almost didn't get to do Santa Clause 3 because we were still filming "The Valley of Light". So I'm really glad it did happen. Tim Allen was also really nice.

If you see Santa Clause 3 and you wonder who Zach is, don't blink or you'll miss him. He's the carpenter elf who brings in the wood planks and says "Watch your backs coming through. Thank you." Probably no need to prepare an Oscar acceptance speech huh? :)

^ ^ To your comment kerry it's probably because it wasn't serious. Personally, I think he looked worse than ever in that scene lol, I don't think I have seen a worse image of him!! But still, I've gotten really into him for some weird reason... he is strangely.. enticing!!

I also found out something that felt very VERY odd the other day. I was browsing around this site dedicated to him and it had pictures of his characters from various films, and I came across his 'Frik' character from the TV series 'Merlin'. Now, ever since I watched that TV series, (being 18 now, I think i was around 10 then) I have somehow remembered his character like no other, very vaguely in my mind, which is really odd and I don't know why. At the time I didn't have internet so I couldn't look him up and I didn't know who played him, I just remember watching this film with a strange elfish character in a black cat suit thing! Now up until this day I hadn't seen the character or watched the series, but when I saw the picture of the character on the screen, I felt a sudden URIQUA!! feeling and then knowing my new found celeb craze played him, it overwelmed me!! I felt a bit like how Amelie felt in the film Amelie Poulan.

Very, very odd...

reply

jeanieb-1, I'm Zach's mom. I can't say I actually met Martin Short since all I did was stare and smile like an idiot, but Zach and my husband did get to talk with him. The Santa Clause 3 wrap party was a Mardi Gras theme, that is why they are wearing beads in the photo.

I've seen a lot of celebrities in the 2 and a half years we've lived in Los Angeles but I don't get starstruck unless I really like someone's work. When that happens I'm a geek. Had I talked to the man I would have just said something brilliant like, "You're funny." There's an accolade that would have stayed with him.

I did feel really lucky to see him in person and one of the reasons I always make a point to share celeb sightings is because I know I like it when other people post them too. I wish everyone could have that experience. It's a thrill to see a celeb in person. By the way Martin Short is a good looking guy. Amazing how Hollywood's version of plain is above average in the real world.

reply

Figured you were, but I wasn't sure. I'm still jealous! I'd have been nervous as can be too, so don't feel like a geek. Besides, "you're funny" gets the point across, and I'm sure that Martin would've understood that you were nervous.

He's definitely not ugly. Not as pretty as Orlando Bloom or George Clooney, but he's still pretty good looking!
