A man needs to play Wonder Woman
So sexist, why is it always a woman playing her?
share[deleted]
That is a pretty good point. I would also like to see an movie about Martin Luther King played by an Asian teenager, that would be interesting to watch, its starting to get racist that only black dudes are being given that role over and over again
shareYEAH.GOOD POINT.ALSO WHY IS ABRAHAM LINCOLN NEVER PLAYED BY A MIDDLE AGED ASIAN WOMAN?
shareGreat idea! They should call it Superman.
shareWe need more male superheroes. They all seem to be women now and quite frankly I don't relate and they wear far too much clothing.
shareGood job! You finally get what it was like for all those decades for girls and women when superheroes seemed to be all non-relatable men, and wore too much clothing. Well done, well done.
😘
To be honest I don't think they ever cared at all until certain people told them they should make a big deal about it.
shareIf there had been more than a couple of female superheroes to begin with, and enticing male superheroes, they would have.
shareMaybe but overall comic books were a male thing. Wonder Woman was scantly clad so she would be fun for soldiers to look at during WW2.
shareThey weren't. There were all kinds of comic books. Archie, Richie Rich, Little Lottie, a series of comic book versions of classic literature, there were tons of them.
shareYep I used to have a huge collection of comic books. They were still mostly a male domain. The ads were aimed at boys for the most part. Regardless I don't think females, especially of the period really cared if there were female superheroes or not.
shareI too had a huge comic book collection. I wouldn't have had that if they were mostly a male domain. The ads were for both boys and girls.
shareMostly for boys.
shareThat's how you remember it because you were a boy, but that isn't the way it was.
shareKeep trying hard for PC gold Catbookss. I am sure a SJW will see your posts soon and reward you for your incorrect memories.
shareOh come on, don't tell me you're going to pull the PC/SJW card on me, Ethan?
shareI didn't pull it. You did. I'm sorry but there are so many PC trolls and nutters on here that I can't be bothered engaging with them/you. You will just keep insisting on something that is incorrect we dance in circles.
What is the point with this?
No, it was you. You think your memory is correct and disagree with mine. That's all this is about.
shareYes, yes of course it is. I'm bored with this now. Bye.
share👋
shareYOU LIKED COMICS.YOU ARE THE ANOMALY.THUS YOU HAVE THE INCORRECT MEMORIES.
shareLong before "comic books" came to mean only superhero or MC/DC comic books, there were loads of different kinds. I had loads of different kinds and collected them, as all kids did -- boys and girls.
shareYou of course are right that there were indeed a series of comics aimed at girls. Problem is that they were written by men who THOUGHT they knew what girls wanted.
Thank god a woman invented the Barbie doll. Otherwise there would have only been this as an extension of what girls/women should be:
On July 24, 1952, a curvaceous bombshell named LÂilli graced the pages of the GermÂan tabloid Bild ZeitÂung for the first time. Created by cartoonist Reinhard Beuthien, Lilli was worldly, single and in search of a rich boyfriend.Even when comics where aimed at girls many times there was a disconnect in what they were and what they were about according to girls and women readers. Which is why so many failed over time.
NO.UNLESS YOU WERE READING BARBIE,GEM,THE DAZZLER OR WHATEVER OTHER GIRLCENTRIC TITLES THEY WERE TRYING TO TALK THE GIRLS INTO.COMICS WERE AND MOSTLY STILL ARE BOY CITY.
shareYep but Catbookss is trying really hard for PC gold here.
shareThey are now, and have been for a while, but they weren't back when. It'd have been stupid to exclude half the kid market who bought them.
shareWell I don’t watch superhero movies but I did go to comic book shops frequently when I was young. Those places were full of young males which leads me to believe that group was the major consumer. Maybe the creators knew young males wanted to see male hero’s to relate to.
shareThat's because what was there for young females in male superhero comics?
shareI’m saying it was a different world back then. Are you saying if Marvel and DC had reversed it back in the day and had all female superhero’s then the comic book stores would have been full of young girls? If they had gone that route they would have gone out of business.
shareIt was a different world back then, granted. But yes, I'm saying if superhero comic books were written for girls, girls would have been all over them. But they weren't.

Yep. The comics were also created by and written by males. WW was also created by men but as mentioned her sexuality was something different. Never saw a female in a comic book store growing up unless it was a mother or older sister and even that was very rare.
shareI wonder if there is a social justice warrior comic book hero. Lol there is a lot of material to work with there. It would be too funny.
shareI thought about that years ago. "SJW gender non binary person!" SJW person eats soy and takes on carnivores at Trump rallies. What are those carnivores up to? They are white and congregating around meat and not a minority in sight!
SJW person will fix that!! SJW's power could be that their tears are like acid and they rain on everyone's parade?
I’m picturing a bunch of old white guys in trump hats eating hot dogs suddenly being descended upon by SJW Person. It would be amazing. I can’t believe no one has done this yet!
shareSJW's don't have a sense of humour and right now they run Hollyweird. If they made it at all they would make it as a serious drama.
shareMarvel does have a hero named Wonder Man
shareYou mean a (rhymes with "man") don't you.
shareYes in an increasingly idiotic world where 'Doctor Who' and 'Captain Marvel' have both had sex changes and become women , I guess a Wonder Woman may just as well turn into a man.
