Just horrible, numerous plot holes and stupidity

1. The Amazons and Diana know every language but nothing of the outside world and modern weaponry?
2. How did they defeat that warship? None of their arrows could have taken care of it.
3. Why did Diana act like a toddler the entire film?
4. Even though this was World War I, they made the Germans in this movie seem like the Nazis. I'm going to guess the majority of the audience is going to think this was World War 2. I didn't like how the movie's direction and Diana basically arbitrarily picked the British and the Allies as the good guys.
5. Ares has had millennia to do his thing, why did he have to be stopped now? Killing him clearly didn't even end war anyways.
6. By the end of the movie, it just didn't make sense. What was the moral of this movie? Diana didn't stop war. She didn't even stop World War 2. What was the message? It was just silly and lacked focus.
7. A woman directed this movie and it was totally obvious. This is why you don't watch war movies made by women. It was just unrealistic. There was just a lot of dumb shit, especially with Diana walking around moping about how horrible war was despite growing up training for war! What did she expect?
8. What Chris Pine's character did at the end made no sense.
9. The movie was blatant SJW propaganda. The Native American character was only written in to bash white American people. What a disgrace. Men in general also just were bashed at every turn.

I don't know what more to say. Flame on, but this was a terrible movie. Avoid if you have any suspicions about it being a SJW mess and not being good. It pretty much is just very, very bad.

And she doesn't have the juggs that Linda Carter had. Epic fail in the boob department.

reply

I thought I saw a ship in the distance when the boats were landing.

reply

Well there it is. Undeniable, scientific proof that Wonder Woman is a great movie.

thebricks didn't like it.

reply

It's proof you have awful taste.

reply

Yeah, sure.

Tell us more about how Die Hard 5 wasn't that bad.

reply

It really wasn't. You're a lemming. Go away.

reply

If you can honestly stand by that, then being told one has awful taste by you is the highest praise one can receive.

reply

I'm not the one following the Pied Piper over the cliff like a fool. Have a nice day.

reply

No, you're the one being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian, even if it means heaping praise onto garbage.

reply

You're saying I'm NOT allowed to dislike this movie?

Jesus Christ.

reply

Not at all, you just need to climb down off that high horse and stop being a prick about it.

reply

You're the one being a prick about this! Who are you kidding?

reply

Sure, kid.

reply

Ok, BYE KID! It was nice talking to you, get a life.

I disagree with the majority of your post but some critiques I wondered about as well.

2: I was wondering this myself. The German dreadnaught was in the distance behind the transport boats. The only answer here I can come up with is that it did not enter the illusion gate. But why wouldn't it go after 20+ men they sent. If the dreadnaught did infact pass through the illusion gate then there is no defending this decision.

3: She knew nothing of the outside world besides myths. Chris pine was the first man she'd ever seen. Never saw a baby or ate ice cream. All new and exciting.

4: I agree with you here! They unfairly annointed the Germans as the bad guys (it was more complicated in WWI) and basically showed them as pre Nazi monsters. Both sides used gas in WWI.

7: Did The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark 30 not deliver for you also? The trench warfare was glossed over but it is a pg13 movie. I would much rather have this female director direct future DCEU films than David Ayer and Zack Snyder.

8: How's that? He was the only one who could pilot a plane. It had to be him. As far as exploding high up in the stratosphere, I'm not sure why the fallout didn't affect some people on the ground somewhere.

The numbers I did not respond to I thought were inappropriate or bull sh*t.

reply

What do you have against David Ayer?

End of watch, Fury and Street Kings were all very good movies... and as the point was about war movis, Ayer's Fury was a good contrast to the comicbook version of war because it depicts the dehuminising effects of war on combatants and civilians, rather than a simple good vs evil representation... its also more viseral and the action is solid and with consequence... beautifully shot movie, very cinematic from the opening shot until the very end

reply

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Fury was one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. The guy is a hack. If a film isn't set in LA with cholos, the guy is clueless.

reply

You didnt like the opening scene? The tank battles? The way they indoctoenate the new guy into war? The
final sacrificial standoff with the SS?
Movie had some good kills too... i'm not saying its ths best war movie ever, but it was solid.. even shia labeouf was good in it... surprisingly so...

Not a bad movie at all and certainly better than any comicbook movie...

reply

He put a cholo in a WWII film. Give me a break.

Then there was the rape scene, which was just weird. It was really messed up.

Then you had the tank battles where the Fury would get hit and nothing would happen, but every other tank would go up in flames, like this thing was from the future. Give me a break.

It was the worst war movie I'd ever seen.

reply

I loved Fury. Liked Street Kings, End of Watch and Harsh Times. Frankly, Ayer doesn't deserve to have the black mark that is Suicide Squad to his name.

reply

7. Uh, no, just no.

You're not smart, btw. Go away.

reply

the warship was listing heavily to one side when it entered the last scene, it was sinking from some earlier mishap

reply

2 : the missing warship is cleary a plot hole. they forgot about the big warship.
8 : Chris Pine could jump out the plane, let the plane sink in the sea.

reply

You forgot to mention the terrible CG.

reply

It's a DC movie, that's a given!

reply

Not really a given since MoS was brilliant but the CG has been quite bad since BvS. WW however is on the level of X-Men Origins Wolverine and Themyscira looked like crap!

reply

I dont think the movie is bad (especially after 2 previous movies in dceu) but I agree most of your points.

1. and 3. are connected, that she doesnt know much about outside world, that's why she looks like a dumb toddler. But this is also stupid, let me add it. WonderGadot never have sex but knew about sex but never saw penis but if she read books about sex then why there are no books about modern outside world. ALSO: did Amazon stuck in time and have no technological advance?

2. is absolute plot hole. the director forgot about the warship.

4. I also have a problem with this Naziesque with German WWI. WOnderGadot picks side because she saved Chris Pine and have him lassoed truth. And that must mean Chris said the truth??? so She trusted him???

8. Chris could jump out the plane using parachute or jump to the sea, let the plane sink in the sea. But I think they just wanted to kill his character.

9. they want make money so they try to gather support from minorities like Native American, Asian, Arab, Muslim, SJW is just a label. Maybe SJW is not really exist???

reply

lol yeah they are passing the hat in the reservations to fund movies, good one :P
And yeah SJW is just a stupid acronym the Trump Nation came up with just so they don't have to look for a new excuse to dismiss someone's argument when they disagree with them.

reply

Ok I agree with a lot but you lost me at the SJW and propaganda business so I'll just ignore that part and address only the other points because really, you are letting yourself down using moronic acronyms and victim mentality there, especially considering the real lead of the movie is a white man who sacrifices himself heroically to save everyone (snoooooore)

1) Agreed. They have surprisingly modern English (which they speak amongst themselves, with an accent... for some reason) but they have no idea what's going on in the world...
2) Agreed again. It would have been impossible for them to defeat the warship so it just vanished.
3) Why did she act like a toddler? Just so Superhero Steve could admonish her for it and tell her what was what!
4) Yeah. Germans, just like Russians, are all-purpose bad guys in American movies and American soldiers are always heroes.
5) Just to have a boss battle in the movie? I mean it's a video game after all. Oh no, wait, it's a movie, I keep confusing them.
6) The message was: Diana is a demi-goddess and she has the power of love. Or something.
7) Yeah um... directors direct movies. Writers write them. Whatever Diana was doing you didn't like, it was the writers fault and sorry for you but they're a bunch of dudes so there goes your SJW propaganda victimhood
8) He was being the White Male Savior. Sorry again.

reply

You're really naive and sheltered if you didn't see the SJW garbage going on in this film. The Indian guy's sole purpose in the film was to bash white Americans. What the heck else did he do, TBH? That's when the film lost me.

reply

It's been few weeks since I saw this and I'm not american, so I might have missed it. How was the Indian guy bashing white Americans?

reply

Are you KIDDING ME? Go watch the campfire scene again.

reply

So I should hit the theatre again to see the campfire scene? How about you just tell me :p

reply

Don't forget the arab guy that was squeezed into the movie. I kept waiting for a transgender to pop up just to check all the diversity boxes off.

reply

"1. The Amazons and Diana know every language but nothing of the outside world and modern weaponry?"

That was awful. Doesn't anyone proofread the scripts before they go into production? Did producers think audience won't notice this stupidity?

"4. I didn't like how the movie's direction and Diana basically arbitrarily picked the British and the Allies as the good guys."

When Ares turned out to be british and not german, I was waiting for Diana to make some comment on how she (obviously) picked the wrong side. But she never did.

"7. A woman directed this movie and it was totally obvious."

Unless the director arbitrarily changed the script, I don't see how any of this was her fault.

"9. The movie was blatant SJW propaganda. The Native American character was only written in to bash white American people."

To me it seemed more like a globalist propaganda. An american guy, scottish guy, muslim guy and native american guy working together to make the world a better place.

I don't feel like starting a new thread just to write my impressions, so I'll do it here. The movie couldn't seem to decide if it's gonna be a typical superhero movie or a movie with a deeper message, so it tried to do a bit of the both, but that combination didn't turn out well, imo. Towards the end, the movie became boring.

Te best parts of the movie were:
1. Chris Pine
2. the backstory of that photo. Now that was really touching.

reply

I didn't like how they didn't explain how Diana jumped to her conclusion. The move would have been better served if there was a war in a small country or region and there was a clue that would have tipped Diana off to the fact that Ares was behind it. Using World War 1 was ridiculous.

"7. A woman directed this movie and it was totally obvious."

"Unless the director arbitrarily changed the script, I don't see how any of this was her fault."

My point was, women don't understand war and action. Don't care if you're a SJW and think I'm wrong. Men don't walk around battlefields moping and crying like that.

reply

Imagine you're a director, they hand you a script and say "shoot it". If the final product turns out the be SJW-like, who is to blame, you or the screenwriters who wrote it like that? Of course, you always have an option to decline to direct a movie that seems too much SJW to you, but in a dog eat dog world that is Hollywood, directors would be crazy to refuse to direct a sure hit movie that gives them an instant name-recognition.

BTW, you have a wrong impression about WWI. Google how many soldiers actually fired their guns in WWI and you'll find out that it was only a small percent. And majority of the soldiers dying in the battlefield cried for mommy.

That only changed in WWII when germans started giving drugs to soldiers to make them feel invincible, and in all later wars... but during the WWI, no, not yet.

reply

"BTW, you have a wrong impression about WWI. Google how many soldiers actually fired their guns in WWI and you'll find out that it was only a small percent. And majority of the soldiers dying in the battlefield cried for mommy."

Baloney statistic that you don't understand. If you were on the front lines in combat, you most certainly fired your gun or you'd die. This is including about support staff who worked on bases. That sort of nonsense is a creative stat by some academic to make a profound, yet false impression on dummies who believe it.

As for soldiers walking around battlefields, you don't have time to mope around and cry. You have to get used to it and move on OR YOU'D DIE or get sent to the nuthouse.

WTF are you talking about with WWII and drugs? Stop watching the History Channel's garbage. That was meth and it was meant to keep them awake, moron.

reply

Maybe I should tell you to stop watching war movies and similar garbage. You obviously have no idea what's going on in wars.

reply

LMAO, have you ever been in one? You sound like you've watched Private Ryan too much.

reply

I highly doubt you've ever even HELD a gun, let alone been in a war.
