The article pointed out that "many tickets were sold", so I think it's dumb given that the people of Lebanon clearly had no problem with the film and wanted to see it. So who is the ban respecting if the people of Lebanon aren't actually against it?

Breitbart is fake news aka: yellow journalism. The page six story from the original poster gives an accurate reason for the boycott without misleading readers.
The COMPLETE reason why Lebanon has banned Wonder Woman is because Gal Gadot is a former soldier in the Israeli army. Lebanon and Israel are still officially at war, but there has been an ongoing ceasefire since 2006. Lebanon's Ministry of Economy and Trade oversees business boycotts re: Israel. Gadot has also voiced criticism of Hamas and support of the Israeli military in the past.
The only other mainstream Israeli (dual citizenship) actor I know is Natalie Portman, but I don't believe her films have been boycotted.
Lefties are not allowed to use the term "fake news", they are the reason we have it. As usually, Mr Troll cannot explain what is "fake" about the article.
