Who hates Shannyn Sossamon?

I do! I do!

Yet another film where she plays a thoroughly loathsome character in a completely lackluster way.

It's difficult for me to watch a film where I can't sympathize with a single character, and that is exactly what happened to me with this movie.

From her whining to her complete inability to pronounce "Henri" as anything other than "Henry", she was appallingly annoying. At one point when she was repeatedly calling after "Henry", "Waah, waah, slow down, you're going too fast, I can't see anything," I actually said aloud, "Shut UP, bitch."

Ugh.

While I think she could use a few good meals, I also think she makes a passable scream queen (This aint Shakespeare after all).

the moles on her face bug me

omg i hate it. shes put as a star again!! she sucked in 1 missed call. yes shes pretty but nothing special and her acting is unbelievable im sorry. 1 person i feel like that gives a great performance in horror is naomi watts, even if shes old shes still attractive and seems more serious

The only thing that I agree with that the OP said, when she was all "Henry! Wait! Can you slow down?" I actually said out loud "Or, YOU could *beep* speed up bitch!"

The universe may not always play fair, but at least it's got a hell of a sense of humor.

She is hot. She isn't a bad actress by any means! She has played roles she couldn't pull off very well (Undiscovered for instance). She has played more bad roles than good ones (while some were great like Rules of Attraction and Wristcutters). This doesn't qualify her as a bad actress! I love her personality! You can see it in a lot of the characters she plays. I would love to get to meet her. I would rather hang out with her than sleep with her. Then again, I would lose a finger to sleep with her. I get lost in her eyes.

reply

I have to disagree,

The character she plays is an insecure timid girl, being placed in a horrific situation. Italian pronunciation is completely different then French, so I don't see your point here.
And having an obvious *beep* like the Henri-character by your side can some times be more comforting than being alone in the dark with the actual belief that some other more horrid person is down there.
I completely sympathized with the character, even more when "spoilers" she snapped and finished the other characters "end spoilers".

And yet, lovecat, you continue to see movies she's in...

I find her annoying too. And I don't find her good looking like some people say.

Kudos on expressing my sentiments exactly on: "it's difficult for me to watch a film where I can't sympathize with a single character."

I thought the whole "slow down" bit was a bit desperate, actually. Here she is, there is this one other survivor who apparently can understand English but is refusing to speak it, who has the only light, and he's going away. Her only hope is that light and Henri is holding it, and he's about to leave her behind, and shows no signs of caring for her at all.

BUT. It was around that time when I also realized that she's in this mess because she's a frakkin' DOORMAT. I can deal with "nervous wreck", I can accept "anxiety disorder", I can't accept "not willing to stand up for herself."

reply

not me let and I will explain. her character Victoria was at a party she really did not want to even be at. couple that with not speaking the language and of course you might seem annoying to locals. Carolyn was much worse with all her trash talk to BLOOD FAMILY. the ending kills were well deserved for that cruel prank

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today
