Can a white guy play Hancock?

Can he?

reply

The film was a commentary on race relations in America, so uh, no?

"A commentary on race relations?" Make your case...

Don't like what I'm saying? Then call 1800-Ima-CryBaby and ask for Waaaaaa.

A couple consisting of a black guy (Smith) and a white woman (Theron), persecuted throughout history - for a few thousand years. (And no, I really don't think they were attacked because they were "super", seeing as when they're together they cease to be that).
I'd call that a comment on racial issues.

reply

Well, you're wrong, genius.

reply

No it wasn't. There were other guys up for the role before Will Smith.

From the trivia section: Before the film became a Will Smith vehicle, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio (among others) were all considered for the title character over the years.

Why can't a black actor play a black man or get this A MAN in a movie. Why does it always have to make a "statement"? LOL.

reply

Why would a "white guy" be a better choice? Why would it matter?

reply

I'd be interested in hearing the answer as well.

reply

So would I.

reply

well , according to the woke-hunters , the wokers would ensure it had to be a white man cos you couldnt show a flawed black man.
lets hope theres a sequel.
