Best score EVER?? Best Cinematography?
This is one of my favorite movies. Scientific inaccuracies aside, the cinematography is beautiful, and the score is damn near perfect. I can't think of another movie where the music moved me so much. Near the end where he is manually disengaging the payload from the ship, and they have Cassie's voice over about dreams of falling into the sun, it just gives me chills.
I don't understand why this movie was not more of a hit. I know people take issue with the third act, but I don't know why so many people felt it ruined the movie. It is not a stretch to believe that someone would have a psychotic break in the isolation of space. It is rare for people to develop psychosis after early adulthood, but it does happen. The circumstances would help facilitate a problem that was already brewing.
