Just saw it. Much better than CAPTAIN MARVEL

It can't compare to Avengers End Game (of course), so I'll compare it to the other comic book movie of this year.

Captain Marvel underwhelmed, whereas this one exceeded expectations.

The trailer made me think it was more aimed at a teenagers age group, but there was plenty of darkness and food for thought to keep us adults engaged.

The backstory to the villain is pretty amazing. I was impressed.

Great special effects as well.

They got the balance right on this one.

Good casting but probably didn't do well given that there are no real stars in this movie, and a character that most haven't heard of.

Still, I recommend it.

Sad Shazam will always be the true Captain Marvel and his comics were outselling Superman at one time

Captain Marvel had the very unlikeable Brie Larson in it, plus it was the weakest of the Marvel SH movies to date. Shazam is definitely better.

I still had a few problems with this movie tho - the final fight scenes were too dragged out and it was a little annoying to see them talk so much (and try to inject some lame humor) in between punching each other. They could've made that part a little more serious and just make it a full on action scene like Supes vs Zod in Man of Steel.

DC needs to make Man of Steel 2 next and then do a Justice League movie with a more serious Shazam in it. Probably won't happen, but I'd like to dream haha.

I don’t like comedy in the third act as a rule for action movies.

And you think Captain Marvel was a popular character?

Shazam! sank because of the stupid release date, sandwiched between Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.

No idea what Warner Bros were thinking, had they released it as an August release, it would likely have done much better.
