I thought he did a good job in this film.

Was a break from his usual, bumbling, loud character.

He gave a great performance, he has alot of range as an actor. I also thought Ed Norton was brillient(as always) and the movie was superb.

Giamatti was superb but in my opinion he was trumped by Rufus Sewell. Anytime i think of this movie the image of Crown Prince Leopold appears before me. the aura he exuded on screen even when not participating in dialogue was the most convincing of all the others. He was born to play the character if i may say so. Meh...not one of Nortons greatest efforts for mine!

I love Paul Giamatti in pretty much everything he's been in and he's a fantastic actor but honestly...I always remember him as the Big Fat Liar guy.
