This Is What Caused Grendel Excruciating Pain ...

The reason he was attacking Hrothgar's people was that his infected ear drum would cause him so much pain and the parties they would have at the hall would be very noisy . He saw them as the thing that caused him so much pain and that's why he attacked them . Remember , he always screams and grabs his ear when there was noise or when Beowulf yelled really loud . Beowulf noticed that and that's why he would yell at Grendel as loud as he could just before he killed him . Grendel also told his mother that man hurt his ear after he attacked the hall the first time .

um...duh...although in the actual poem/story, his ear is perfectly fine...he's just a big ass monster who tears people to pieces...his mother isn't hot either...she is just a bigger ugly monster that he fights in a lake of death which he swims in for hours (somehow holding his breath that long) the dragon was never his son because in the poem/story the mother and Beowulf never have sex...so messed up this movie is...entertaining though...

Don't read this! Too late, your cursed...

That's the funny thing though... right up until the point where Beowulf goes to kill Grendel's mother it's moderately accurate to the story. Then it goes left field. I enjoyed it, but I wondered why they did that.

Thanks for clearing that up, I always wondered why he attacked whenever they were partying so damn loud and kept covering his ear whenever Beowulf screamed at him, or why Beowulf specifically struck his eardrum. It all makes sense now! Would you be kind enough to also explain Hrothgar's strange reaction when Grendel's father is brought up? Thanks in advance.

hahahaha lol.

Hrothgar reacts that way because he IS Grendel's father.

He made a similar deal with the mom that Beowulf made later on, not to kill the mom but instead enjoy sex with her and then power as king.

Well, if I had neighbours who boozed and brawled at wild parties all night and sang ribald songs about naked women and beer, my ears would hurt too.
