when the new Batman is Robert Pattinson

Same reason they're bringing back Michael Keaton's Batman. At the moment, WB seems to be throwing everything and hoping it sticks with this particular project.

Because apparently, Pattinson's Batman isn't part of any of the shared universes. Doesn't connect to or set up anything. It's its own thing. At least for now.
