To make the next Dr male again would be the worst thing that could happen and completely undo all of the good work and the whole point of having a female doctor.

WRONG! Doctor Who is a male character. The Nurse Who experiment was a colossal failure that cost BBC the rights to the show.
In my opinion this era didn't work because the writing was bad. I'm not really much of a 13 fan, but the writing hindered it. Doctor who has always been political, and I hate people who throw the word woke about, but the political stuff was written badly, there where too many companions and so 13 never really got to shine and in her first series, they wrote her in a way that was too much 10/11 without giving her any bite or her own style

And before you bring Missy into this, I tend to think that whole female Master thing was just a STUPID GIMMICK to appeal to woke bastards and bitches, so why the Doctor had to fall prey to that as well is beyond me. Besides, it was probably Chibnall's idea to do that, and as of now everyone knows, Chibnall is a CUNT.
I too wasn't sure about a female doctor as the character had always been male to me but realised I was basing my views on real life humans which the doctor isn't. I also feel the show was going stale and so needed a change. I dont think Chibnal was the right person to do it though
