Why did he wait so long?

Watched it again after such a long time. I'm confused. Why did v wait twenty years to kill these people. The scientist was right there when he broke out of the prison. IT is implied that they didn't set their master plan into motion until after they salvaged the cure from his blood after the fire. Why allow them to become all powerful to kill them?

I believe V is dramatic, an actor and well educated. It would be far beneath him to just kill his enemies outright. The entire series of events was a well orchestrated plan down to the last detail. It's possible that even though he knew they were doing human testing, he didn't have any idea WHAT the purpose of it was. His master plan involved destroying parliament. He stated in the movie "It took nearly ten years to clear the tracks, and a lay a bit of my own." It took a long time to do things right. This is a man committed to making a statement.

(Besides the obvious, this is a work of fiction and that would kill the plot.)

I know it's obvious but he most certainly was a genius

V had a lot of fighting training to do. And he said it took him years to clear the tracks to Parliament building. He was very busy.

He had to set up his massive domino display first.

^Pretty much, ha ha. That can take years.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

He probably wanted to kill all of them at the same time he did the Parliament bombing, and the Parliament bombing took a lot of preparation.

He probably could have killed those people earlier. But he’s not the type to just want to kill them for revenge. He had a broader goal relating to society at large.
